Philip boys coast to team title at Lyman cross-country meet
Philip's Baylor Burns won the Lyman Raider Nation Invitational cross-country meet on Saturday at the Medicine Creek Golf Course.

PRESHO — The Philip boys cruised the team title at Saturday’s Lyman Raider Nation Invitational cross-country meet. 

The Scotties finished first-through-fourth and had six runners in the top-eight finishers. Philip’s Baylor Burns covered the 5,000-meter distance at the Medicine Creek Golf Course in 17 minutes and :19.85 seconds. Jack Peterson (17:25.71), Trey Larson (17:34.55) and Aiden Craven (17:46.69) finished second-through-fourth for the Scotties. Gregory’s Finn Adams (17:48.30) rounded out the top-five runners. 

The girls race featured just six runners, with Gregory’s Abigail Engel (22:15.67) winning the race. Todd County’s Shelly Larvir (22:25.50) and Elizabeth Moore (24:00.30) finished second and third, respectively. St. Francis Indian’s Adrienne White Lance (24:00.38) and Winner’s Kylie Sachtjen (24:37.75) placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Todd County’s Amaya Martinez (31:04.10) finished sixth.
