PIERRE — The Pierre High School boys golf team captured the team title at its home invitational on Tuesday.
The Governors, who had five golfers in the top-15 finishers, carded a six-under-par 282 at Hillsview Golf Club. Pierre’s Sawyer Sonnenschein and Luke Olson tied for second with 69s to power the team title.
Nick Bothun (70), Lincoln Houska (74) and Jack Bartlett (75) all finished among the top-15 golfers for the Governors. Watertown (288) and Mitchell (306) finished second and third, respectively.
Individually, Watertown’s Jake Olson claimed individual medalist honors with a six-under-par 66, including a 30 on the back nine. Olson carded 10 birdies, including six on the back nine.
Spearfish’s Parker Reede also tied for second with Luke Olson and Sonnenschein. Bothun rounded out the top-five finishers.
