Spearfish 5, Helena (Mont.) 3

SPEARFISH — Spearfish notched a Legion baseball win over Helena, Montana, on Monday.

Tucker Olson led Spearfish with two RBIs on two hits, one double, Walker Viessman added an RBI on two hits while Jack Scharf collected an RBI-single in the win.

Olson tossed 4.2 innings on the mound, allowing one run on four hits, striking out six.


Helena (Mont.) 12 Spearfish 2 (5 innings)

SPEARFISH — Spearfish fell in the second game of a Legion baseball doubleheader on Monday.

Walker Viessman allowed nine runs on six hits and a walk in 4.1 innings for Spearfish, striking out seven.

Tucker Olson and Jack Scharf each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.


West Central 8, Volga 5

VOLGA — West Central clipped Volga for a Legion baseball win on Monday.

Kane Grace had two RBIs on a hit and a walk for West Central, Jett Whiting drove in two runs, Eli Koehn had three hits and a walk, Max Lewin had two hits while Cooper Ball drove in a run on one hit in the win.

Karson Vessells earned the win on the mound in four innings of work, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out six.

For Volga, Broden Teske took the loss in four innings, allowing five runs on six hits and a walk, striking out two.

Teske had three hits, including a double and a triple, driving in a run, Braden Danzeisen hit a two-run homer while Tate Steffensen and Trentyn Schmit each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Lake Norden/Badger 7, Castlewood 4

CASTLEWOOD — Teague Stevenson struck out 11 batters as Lake Norden/Badger topped Castlewood in Legion baseball action on Monday.

Stevenson allowed four runs on four hits and four walks in 5.2 innings, striking out 11 in the win.

Emmett Aho had three RBIs on a hit and a walk, Carlos Rodriguez added an RBI on two hits, Evan Schultz tallied two hits while Stevenson collected an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Castlewood, Kaden Nedved allowed four runs on four hits and two walks in 4.2 innings, striking out six.

Nedved tallied two hits and an RBI in the loss for Castlewood.


Tabor 5, Vermillion 0

TABOR — Cooper Mudder tossed 6.1 shutout innings as Tabor blanked Vermillion in Legion baseball action on Monday.

Mudder allowed just three hits and six walks in 6.1 innings of work, striking out six in the win.

Calvin Caba had two hits and an RBI while Ethan Wagner and Madden Merkwan each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Vermillion, Ryan Vitt took the loss in six innings of work, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks, striking out four.

Corbin Heckens, Connor Peterson and Grant Roerig each had a hit in the loss.


Platte/Geddes 14, Winner/Colome 4 (5 innings)

PLATTE — Maddux VanZee and Keaton Christensen drove in eight runs as Platte/Geddes topped Winner/Colome in Legion action on Monday.

VanZee batted 3-for-5 with a triple and four RBIs, Christensen tallied four RBIs on two hits, a double and a walk while Conway Collins, Asher Kott and Bohde Kuiper each drove in a run in the win.

Kenyon Kuiper earned the win on the mound in 2.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks, striking out four.

For WC, Camdyn Anderson took the loss, allowing 10 runs on five hits and three walks.

Anderson had three RBIs on two hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids 2, Garretson 1

GARRETSON — Gauge Bunkers complete game on the mound powered Dell Rapids over Garretson in Legion baseball action on Monday.

Bunkers allowed just one run on three hits and three walks in seven innings, striking out six.

Kenny Swanson had an RBI-single in the win.

For Garretson, Cole Jessen allowed two runs on three hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out 13 in the loss.

Ty VanHolland had two hits while Jacoby Costello drove in the lone Garretson run in the loss.


Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota 13, Elkton-Lake Benton 0 (5 innings)

ELKTON — Riley Gall tossed a complete game shutout to power Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota in Legion action on Monday.

Gall allowed just seven walks in five shutout innings, striking out six in the win.

Luke Peters had four RBIs on two hits, a double and a homer, Kory Keppen had two RBIs, Easton Miller and Riley Tschetter each had an RBI while Gall added two hits and a walk in the win.

For ELB, Eliot Erickson took the loss in 0.2 innings, allowing seven runs on one hit and seven walks.


Luverne (Minn.) 11, Colton 7

COLTON — Colton fell in Legion baseball action on Monday.

Alex Wingen took the loss in two innings of work, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks.

Denton Bicknase had three RBIs on two hits, Wingen added an RBI on two doubles, Mason Hemme had two RBIs on a double while Braxton Allen added an RBI in the loss.


Watertown 11, Groton 1 (5 innings)

WATERTOWN — Watertown pounded out nine hits as it earned a mercy rule win over Groton in Legion action on Monday.

Jonathan Lake drove in three runs on a hit and a walk, Cole Hansen had three hits, Cain Everson tallied two hits, two walks and an RBI, Carter Buisker and Lincoln Schutt each had an RBI on one hit while Markus Pitkin and Tripp Jorgenson each drove in a run in the win.

Kasen Jensen earned the victory on the mound in two shutout innings, allowing two hits while striking out three.

For Groton, Jarrett Erdmann took the loss in four innings of work, allowing seven runs on six hits and six walks, striking out four.

Alex Abeln had an RBI-single in the loss.


Watertown 13, Groton 3 (6 innings)

WATERTOWN — Jackson McClemans and S Olson drove in seven combined runs as Watertown swept Groton in a Legion baseball doubleheader on Monday.

McClemans had four RBIs on two hits, including a double and a triple, while Olson added three RBIs on a double and two walks. Lincoln Schutt batted 4-for-4 with two RBIs while Cain Everson, Jaxon Falak and Tripp Jorgenson each drove in a run in the win.

Kooper Heiser tossed four innings in the win, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks, striking out seven.

For Groton, Karsten Fliehs took the loss in five innings, allowing 12 runs on nine hits and four walks, striking out two.

Alex Abeln and Carter Simon each had two hits while Nick Groeblinghoff, Jarrett Erdmann and Gavin Englund each had an RBI in the loss.
