Players to watch at 2024 Hoop City Classic

The Hoop City Classic is Dec. 27-30 in Mitchell.

The event again includes plenty of in-state and out-of-state teams, while also featuring a number of talented players. 

Here’s a look at the players to watch for the event. 


Players to watch:

Griffen Goodbary, Sioux Falls Christian: A 6-foot-10 senior forward, Goodbary headlines a potent Sioux Falls Christian lineup. The future Jackrabbit was last season’s Class A boys basketball player of the year and the Gatorade South Dakota boys basketball player of the year. As a junior, the skilled forward averaged 20.2 points, seven rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. 

Marvin Richard III, Pine Ridge: A 6-foot-3 point guard, Richard III is off to a blistering junior campaign. He’s averaging 38.4 points per game this season, including a Lakota Nation Invitational boys basketball tourney record 57-point performance on Dec. 19. 

Easton Neuendorf, Hamlin: A 5-foot-11 senior guard, Neuendorf was a first-team all-stater in 2023, averaging 15.1 points, 7.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. Neuendorf recently scored his 1,000th career point. 

Markus Talley, Mitchell: A 6-foot-1 senior guard, Talley was a first-team all-state selection last season. The future Augustana University men’s basketball player averaged 16.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game last season.

Colton Smith, Mitchell: A 6-foot-6 junior guard/forward, Smith averaged 18.3 points, nine rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Smith was a first-team all-stater last season. 

Addison Neuendorf, Hamlin: A 5-foot-6 junior guard, Neuendorf was a Class A all-state first-team selection last season, averaging 20.5 points, 3.9 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game for the Chargers.   

Krista Langager, Sisseton: A 6-foot-2 senior center, Langager was a Class A all-state first-team selection last season, averaging 20.5 points and nine rebounds per game this season. 

Dothan Ijadimbola, Totino-Grace, Minnesota: A Class of 2026 prospect, the 6-foot-6 Ijadimbola holds scholarship offers from Iowa State, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Minnesota.

Chace Watley, Totino-Grace, Minnesota: A 6-foot-2 senior, Watley is verbally committed to Division I Wofford. 

Tian Chatman, Totino-Grace, Minnesota: Tian Chatman, younger brother of current Ohio State guard Taison Chatman, is a 6-foot-3 junior with an offer from Division I Bryant. 

Lantz Stephenson, Coronado, Nevada: A 6-foot-6 small forward, Stephenson has Division I scholarship offers from UNLV, Manhattan, and Northern Arizona.

Jalen St. Clair, Coronado, Nevada:  A 5-foot-10 point guard, St. Clair has picked up Division I offers from San Jose State, Southern Utah and Long Island University. 

Nolan Groves, Orono, Minnesota: A 6-foot-4 senior shooting guard, Groves is committed to Yale. 

Brady Wooley, Orono, Minnesota: A 6-foot-8 senior power forward, Wooley holds scholarship offers from Yale and North Dakota. 

Justin Frison, Houston, Tennessee:  Frison, a Class of 2027 point guard, has scholarship offers from Tennessee State and Alabama State. 

Jordan Myles, Houston, Tennessee: Myles, a Class of 2027 small forward, has a scholarship offer from Bryant. 

Keron Jackson, Houston, Tennessee: Keron Jackson, a 6-foot-7 senior small forward, has scholarship offers from Arkansas State and Jacksonville State.
