RAPID CITY — Rapid City Christian’s Taylor Harrelson and Hill City’s Tate Grabow captured individual titles at Thursday’s Region 5A cross-country meet at Hart Ranch in Rapid City.

Harrelson took the individual title running the 5,000-meter race in 19:32.19. Hill City’s Andee Frandsen (19:50.22) took second place followed by Belle Fourche’s Rhys Pearson (20:00.91) in third. Mahpiya Luta’s Tahca Zephier (20:16.36) and St. Thomas More’s Amara Usera (20:18.66) rounded out the top-5 leaders.

Grabow ran away with the boys title with a final time of 15:36.95. Belle Fourche’s Lennon Clarkson took second place with a time of 16:25.66 while Custer’s Peyton Krueger (16:36.63) came in third. Hill City’s Dax Frandsen (16:48.97) and Custer’s Carter Cooper (16:54.06) finished off the top-5 individual leaders.

In the girls team race, Hill City took first place with 19 points, followed by Belle Fourche (31) and Mahpiya Luta (43). The Custer Boys won the team title with 22 points, clipping Hill City (24) and Belle Fourche (42).
