Crazy Horse 63, Mitchell Christian 45

HURON —  The Crazy Horse defense forced 27 turnovers and three players scored in double-figures as the Chiefs defeated Mitchell Christian in boys basketball action Saturday from the Huron Classic. 

Richard Pumpkin Seed powered the Chiefs with 30 points and eight steals. Donnie Ghost Dog scored 13 points and grabbed two rebounds. DeVaughn Between added 12 points, six rebounds and five steals while Noah Iron Horse chipped in with eight points and 11 rebounds. 

Aiden Leber finished with 33 points and 17 rebounds for Mitchell Christian. 


Lyman 60, Langford 31

HURON — Three players scored in double-figures as Lyman picked up a win over Langford on Saturday at the Huron Classic. 

Jonas Zirpel led the Raiders with 13 points, five rebounds and two steals. MJ Diehm added 13 points and five rebounds while Dawson Volmer chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds and an assist. 

Rennan Bruns led Langford with 10 points while Jacob Samson delivered nine points and two rebounds. 


Lower Brule 55, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 49

HURON — Three players reached double-figures and a strong second-quarter helped Lower Brule earn a win over Sanborn Central/Woonsocket at Saturday’s Huron Classic. 

Quentin McBride Jr. hit 6 3-pointers and finished with 26 points, six rebounds and six steals. Lane Gray added 14 points and three rebounds while Elliot LaRoche notched 13 points, two rebounds and an assist. 

Jeff Boschee led Sanborn Central/Woonsocket with 19 points and seven rebounds. Payton Uecker added 11 points and Cody Slykhuis had ten points and four rebounds. 


Clark/Willow Lake 62, Chamberlain 47

HURON — Four players reached double-figures as Clark/Willow Lake earned a win over Chamberlain at the Huron Classic on Saturday. 

Bo Begeman and Jack Helkenn each scored 14 points for Clark/Willow Lake. Emmerson Larson added 12 points and five rebounds and Sullivan Felberg chipped in with 10 points. 

Dakota Munger led Chamberlain with 16 points. Cruz Soulek added 13 points and four rebounds while Breckyn Harmon had 12 points and two rebounds. 


Faulkton Area 55, Burke 53

HURON — Layne Cotten’s huge game helped Faulkton Area slip past Burke in boys basketball action Saturday from the Huron Classic. 

Deiter finished with 34 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Gian DiMaria added eight points with Spencer Melius and Charlie Deiter combining for 10 points and seven rebounds. 

Quintin Bull led Burke with 16 points and seven rebounds. Sam Stelle added 12 points and Reed Benter chipped in with 10 points, four rebounds, an assist and two steals. 




Ipswich 58, Timber Lake 40

IPSWICH — Three players scored in double-figures as Ipswich picked up a home win over Timber Lake in boys basketball action Saturday. 

Jace Konser led the Tigers with 24 points. Trevor Heinz added 17 points, seven assists and two rebounds wh8ile Chet Peterson added 11 points and 11 rebounds. 

Tristan Dupris led Timber Lake with 10 points. Kelly Bollinger and Gracen Hansen each scored nine points and combined for nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. 


West Central 60, Hill City 45

HARTFORD — A balanced scoring attack helped West Central earn a win over Hill City in boys basketball action Saturday. 

Connor Medius powered the West Central attack with 15 points and four rebounds. Crew Heier had a solid game with 14 points and eight rebounds. Jake Kuhl added nine points and 10 rebounds while Paden Schulte had eight points, four assists and six rebounds. 

Devin Buehler led Hill City with 18 points. Everett Sullivan and Ian Jorgensen combined for 17 points for the Rangers.


Wessington Springs 67, Jones County 27

HURON — Parker Graff and Colby Flowers combined for 38 points as Wessington Springs sprinted past Jones County for a boys basketball win Saturday at the Huron Classic. 

Graff powered the Spartans with 24 points, two rebounds and two steals. Flowers posted 14 points and nine rebounds. Blake Larson, Ryder Michalek and Karter Mebuis each had eight points for Wessington Springs. 

A short-handed Jones County team was led by Jace Nix and Gunnar Whitney who both had five points for the Coyotes. 

 

Howard 70, James Valley Christian 52

 HURON — Four players scored in double-figures as Howard earned a win over James Valley Christian in the final boys game of the Huron Classic on Saturday.

Luke Koepsell led the Tigers with 21 points while Kolt Koepsell added 15 points and seven rebounds. Colby Claussen finished with 11 points and four rebounds and Taiden Hoyer chipped in with 10 points.

Dax Frandsen led James Valley Christian with 12 points. Jerrad Wallman added 10 points and nine rebounds. Chase Davis and Isaac Korrell combined for 17 points. 


Rapid City Stevens 65, Rapid City Central 32

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double-figures as Rapid City Stevens breezed to a win over cross-town rival Rapid City Central in boys basketball action Saturday. 

Dayler Segrist powered the Raiders with 17 points and four rebounds. Shun-Zi White Woman added 13 points and five rebounds while Kaelem Brooks chipped in with 11 points, three rebounds, an assist and two steals. 

Jet Janvrin led Rapid City Central with 12 points while Trae Brandrup and Isaiah Whiting each had six points for the Cobblers. 




Girls Roundup

Timber Lake 45, Ipswich 33

IPSWICH — A balanced scoring attack helped Timber Lake earn a road win over Ipswich in girls basketball action Saturday. 

Senior Kendyl Locken led the way Saturday with 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Natalie Lawrence added 12 points and three rebounds while Kessa Bigger chipped in with four points and seven rebounds. 

Gabby Wald led Ipswich with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals. Anna Nierman and Marley Guthmiller combined for 18 points for the Tigers.
