Chester Area 3, Howard 0 

HOWARD — Class B No. 3 swept Howard in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-7, 25-21 and 25-19. 

Chester Area’s Lily VanHal recorded 17 kills, 12 assists and two aces. Serena Larson logged nine kills. Emmerson Eppard posted two aces and three blocks. Emilie Bleeker recorded two blocks. Katelynn Huntimer and Emery Larson recorded 18 and 17 digs, respectively. Jacy Wolf dished out 20 assists. 

Howard’s Kate Connor finished with eight kills and two blocks. Piper Thompson added five kills and 17 digs. Abby Aslesen added five kills. Rylee Rudebusch posted 15 assists. Canyon Kidd added 12 digs and Tana Hoyer logged three assists. Landree Callies finished with one block.


Miller 3, Faulkton Area 0

FAULKTON — Miller swept Faulkton Area in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-18, 26-24 and 25-16.

Miller’s Tricia Lammers finished with 10 kills and one block. Ally Mullaney added nine kills and three block assists, while Abbi Blake posted seven kills and one ace. Jaden Werdel recorded six kills and 10 digs. Tyra Gates dished out 30 assists, added 10 digs and two aces. Jolie Palmer and Journey Palmer had 18 and eight digs, respectively. 

Faulkton Area’s Carley Cotton recorded eight kills and one solo block, while Kelli Stoecker logged seven kills and two block assists. Stoecker and Trisha Cramer each had aces. Gabby Kast finished with 20 assists. Addison Melius logged 20 digs. 


Dakota Valley 3, Canton 0

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 2 Dakota Valley swept Class A No. 4 Canton for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 25-14, 25-22, and 25-13.

Dakota Valley’s Sophie Tuttle led with 12 kills and six digs, while Claire Munch had 13 digs and five kills. Logan Miller tallied 26 assists and six digs, while Kate VanRoyan and Reagan VanRoyan recorded 29 and seven digs, respectively. Addie Kleis and Jorja VanDenHul added four kills apiece.

Canton’s Macy Plucker tallied 10 kills and three blocks, while Landree Meister recorded 21 assists. Carlee Laubach had nine digs, while Fallon Lundstrom had three aces. Danica Rozeboom added three blocks.


Northwestern 3, Ipswich 0

MELLETTE — Class B No. 2 Northwestern swept Ipswich in high school volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-15, 25-9, and 25-12.

Northwestern’s Ella Haven led with 19 kills, eight digs, and three aces. Ashley Haven tallied seven kills, eight digs, and three aces, while Brooklinn Halvorson recorded 25 assists, 11 digs, and four kills.

Ipswich’s Gracie Lange led with 10 kills, while Baylee Kulesa tallied 10 digs and five kills. Madison Geditz had 14 digs, while Quincy Olivier had 16 assists. Vanesa Diaz had six digs, while Marley Guthmiller added three kills. 


Redfield 3, Britton-Hecla 0

BRITTON — Redfield swept Britton-Hecla in high school volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-16, 25-19, and 25-14.

Redfield’s Gracie Fast led with 10 kills and seven digs, while Camryn Rohlfs had 24 assists. Mallory Smith tallied four aces and one block, while Chloe Zens added seven digs.

Britton-Hecla stats were not reported.


Madison 3, Vermillion 2

MADISON — Madison outlasted Vermillion in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 18-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-22 and 15-13.

Madison’s Audrey Nelson finished with 29 kills, five blocks and two aces. Amanda Vacanti logged 11 kills, 14 assists and three aces. Maycee Theede logged 35 digs, while Cadence Zens finished with 22 digs. Karley Theede added 19 assists and Lydia Nelson had four blocks. 

Vermillion’s Serena Gapp recorded 19 kills and three aces. Brooklyn Voss logged 14 kills and four blocks. Claire Doty recorded three aces, 24 digs and 30 assists. Kelsey O’Neill finished with 15 assists and Shaelynn Puckett posted four blocks. 


Estelline/Hendricks 3, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 1

RUTLAND — Estelline/Hendricks topped Oldham-Ramona/Rutland in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 26-28, 25-19, 25-17 and 25-22.

Estelline/Hendricks’ Kenzy Beare finished with 18 kills and two blocks. Brooke Johnson added 11 kills and eight digs. Heidi Nicola logged four kills. Sadie Johnson posted 28 assists and 30 digs. Julie Williams and Maddy Ebbers had 34 and 33 digs, respectively. Ebbers and Brooke Johnson both had aces. Brooke Johnson added eight assists. 

ORR’s Julia Trygstad finished with 16 kills and three aces. Camlin Schneider logged seven kills, while Paige Hanson finished with 18 assists, two aces and two blocks. Brookelyn Riedel logged 10 assists. Alivia Bickett and Bailey Hyland had 19 and 15 digs, respectively. 


Centerville 3, Freeman Academy/Marion 0

CENTERVILLE — Centerville picked up a high school volleyball win over Freeman Academy/Marion on Thursday. The set scores were 25-19, 25-6, and 25-18.

Centerville’s Thea Gust tallied eight kills and nine digs, while Rylie Tieman had six kills and four digs. Macey Hostetler recorded 26 assists and four digs, while Bailey Hansen tallied five kills and nine digs. Lillie Eide added three kills and six digs.

FAM’s Alexa Gortmaker logged seven kills and 12 digs, while Emma McConniel led with 28 digs. Alivea Weber had 10 digs, while Anna Olson added three blocks.


Gayville-Volin 3, Freeman Academy/Marion 0  

CENTERVILLE — Gayville-Volin swept Freeman Academy/Marion for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 25-7, 25-10, and 25-14.

GV’s Maia Achen led with 12 kills, while Ayla Dimmer added six kills. Keeley Larson tallied 25 assists and 18 digs, while Taylor Hoxeng added 15 digs.

FAM’s Emma McConniel tallied 37 digs, while Hailey Stahl added 14 digs. Isabelle McConniel tallied six assists, while Anna Olson had three kills. Kallie Johnson added three blocks.


Gayville-Volin 3, Centerville 0

CENTERVILLE — Gayville-Volin swept Centerville in high school volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-16, 25-13, and 25-23.

GV’s Maia Achen led with 17 kills, while Ayla Dimmer added eight kills and eight digs. Keeley Larson tallied 25 assists, while Taylor Hoxeng added 19 digs and four aces.

Centerville’s Thea Gust tallied seven kills and 15 digs, while Macey Hostetler logged 15 assists and five digs. Bailey Hansen had 13 digs and three aces, while Lillie Eide recorded nine digs. Mackenzie Meyer and Kiera Austin added seven and six digs, respectively.

TRIPP — Tripp-Delmont/Armour picked up a high school volleyball win over Freeman on Thursday. The set scores were 21-25, 25-21, 25-15, and 28-26.

TDA’s Gracey Schatz recorded 17 kills and 13 digs, while Megan Reiner tallied 12 kills, 14 digs, and four blocks. Faith Goehring had seven kills and 13 digs, while Hannah Stremick had five kills and 24 digs. Mia Reiner added eight digs.

Freeman stats were not reported.


Scotland 3, Avon 1

SCOTLAND — Scotland earned a four-set win over Avon in high school volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-17, 21-25, 25-18, and 25-23.

Scotland’s Trinity Bietz tallied 14 kills, nine blocks, and six digs, while Martina DeBoer logged seven kills, 12 blocks, 13 digs, and six aces. Grace Robb had 12 digs and two aces, while Claire Janish recorded 15 assists, six blocks, and three aces. Kalley Vitek had six blocks, five assists, and three aces, while Bailey Vitek added seven digs.

Avon’s Courtney Sees led with 15 kills, 23 digs, and two aces, while McKenna Kochmich tallied 20 assists and 15 digs. Lila Vanderlei logged five kills and 11 digs, while Sarah Swier had 10 digs. Grace Vanderlei and Macy Voigt added seven and six digs, respectively.


Florence/Henry 3, Milbank 0

MILBANK — Florence/Henry swept Milbank in a high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-18, 25-17, and 25-17.

FH’s Caylin Kelly tallied 11 kills, 19 digs, and three blocks, while Macey Lane logged nine kills and one ace. Trinity Watson also had nine kills, while Taylor Watson recorded 16 digs and four blocks. Reese Schmidt added 26 assists.

Milbank’s Rachel Schulte and Rylie Overby each had six kills, while Schulte also had 13 digs. Averie Engebretson led with 16 assists and four kills, while Casside Seezs also had four kills. Hallie Schulte tallied 15 digs, while Addisyn Krause added 11 digs.


Deuel 3, Sisseton 1

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel picked up a four-set high school volleyball win over Sisseton on Thursday. The set scores were 19-25, 25-22, 25-23 and 26-24.

Deuel’s Josie Andersen posted nine kills, 14 assists and one block. Harley Hennings added eight kills and five aces. Emma Sattler had five aces and two blocks. Hope Bjerke finished with five kills and one block. Annika Kriz finished with 22 digs. Gracie Fieber finished with nine assists and five digs. 

Sisseton stats were not reported. 


Yankton 3, Mitchell 0

YANKTON — Yankton swept Mitchell for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 25-16, 25-21, and 25-16.

Yankton’s Macy Drotzmann tallied 10 kills and 10 digs, while Ava Koller had eight kills and eight digs. Camille McDermott added 25 assists and 15 digs.

Mitchell stats were not reported.


Harrisburg 3, Huron 1

HARRISBURG — Class AA No. 2 Harrisburg defeated Class AA No. 5 Huron in a Thursday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-21, 25-15, 21-25 and 25-20.

Harrisburg’s Gabrielle Zachariasen finished 18 kills and 20 digs. Kaelyn Snoozy logged 15 kills, while Maggie Meister added 22 digs and two aces. Karalynn Leach and Kayleigh Hybertson added three blocks apiece. Lindsay Langner had two aces and Hybertson recorded 40 assists. 

Huron’s Heavan Gainey recorded 10 kills, while Bryn Huber posted 24 digs and three aces. Elin Schoenhard added three blocks.
