West Central 47, Dakota Valley 21

HARTFORD — Class 11A No. 4 West Central pulled away from West Central for a Friday high school football victory. 


Avon 68, Scotland/Menno 14

MENNO — Class 9B No. 2 Avon ran past Scotland/Menno for a Friday high school football win.

Avon’s Easton Sees rushed for 209 yards on 10 carries. Cale Cooper added 78 yards rushing on 10 carries. Sees added 59 passing yards. Al’Shamon Gunter posted 41 yards receiving. Cooper had five tackles. 

For Scotland/Menno, Izayah Ulmer passed for 141 yards. Hunter Clark hauled in six catches for 118 yards and two touchdown receptions. Jarret Andretta had 12 yards rushing. Erick Buechler had five tackles and an interception. 


Viborg-Hurley 28, Hanson 6

HURLEY — Viborg-Hurley topped Hanson in Friday high school football action.

Viborg-Hurley’s Brady Schroedermeier passed for 170 yards, rushed for 91 yards and had a passing touchdown. Reese Simonsen added 97 yards receiving and scored three total touchdowns. Brenner Gerdes, Evan Campbell and Schroedermeier had seven tackles apiece. 

Hanson’s Jett Jager passed for 113 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. 


Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central 20, Chamberlain 8 

CHAMBERLAIN — Class 11B No. 3 Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central held off Chamberlain for a Friday high school football win.

Luke Larson completed 7-of-14 passes for 101 yards and touchdown, while rushing for 84 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown. Wesley Molnar added 34 yards rushing and 39 yards receiving. Grant Edward had three catches for 47 yards. Colby Flowers finished with 5.5 tackles and a fumble recovery. Molnar, Edwards and Kneen had interceptions on defense. Hunter Fenske posted seven tackles.

Chamberlain stats were not reported. 


Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 54, Irene-Wakonda 0

FREEMAN — Class 9AA No. 1 Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy blanked Irene-Wakonda in Friday high school football action. 

FMFA’s Riley Tschetter completed 6-of-8 passes for 185 yards and three touchdowns. Tschetter added a rushing touchdown and 79 yards on the ground. Titus Sperling added a passing touchdown. Easton Tschetter rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Karter Weber, Tate Sorensen, Michael Blau and Brayden Carda hauled in touchdown receptions. Taylor Goodwin posted six tackles.

For IW, Brody Johnke had 35 yards rushing and Isaac Logue had 15 passing yards. Tristin Llewellyn had 15 yards receiving. Johnke posted two tackles. 


Sioux Valley 46, Beresford 6

VOLGA — Sioux Valley’s Mitchell Guthmiller rushed for 205 yards to power the Cossacks to a Friday high school football win.

Guthmiller scored a rushing touchdown and had 16 carries. Logan Mohn added two rushing touchdowns and 95 yards rushing. Wyatt Hardt passed for 85 yards and threw a passing touchdown to Guthmiller. Hardt added a rushing touchdown. Braden Danzeisen added a rushing touchdown. Johnnie Vermeulen had six tackles. Mohn and Wyatt Nelson posted interceptions on defense. 

For Beresford, Ashton Oberle threw a passing touchdown to Hayden Schilling. Oberle passed for 101 yards. Cameron Mullinix had 13 tackles and Tiegen Nyhaug had an interception.


Lennox 44, Madison 19

LENNOX — Ramsey Williams rushed for 156 yards to pace Class 11A No. 5 Lennox to a win over Class 11A No. 3 Madison on Friday.

Williams scored two rushing touchdowns on 21 carries. Jhaimann Huntington passed for 157 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for another score. Drake Mikkelsen hauled in six catches for 126 yards and a score. Talen Eich also caught a touchdown. Nolyn Spielman had 11 tackles and a sack. Tate Gerdes and Maverick Stockwell had interceptions. 

For Madison, Henry Veenhof rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown. Veenhof also passed for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Shane Veenhof hauled in two passing touchdowns. Calebe Pettersen posted 12 tackles. Caleb Hodges and Ethan Sims both had interceptions. 


Watertown 15, Tea Area 7

TEA — Watertown upset Class 11AA No. 2 Tea Area in Friday high school football action.

Watertown’s Carson Schlaht drilled five field goals to account for all 15 Arrow points. He hit field goals of 32, 37, 24, 27 and 42 yards. Watertown’s Markus Pitkin rushed for 48 yards on 12 carries and passed for 76 yards. Kutler Swenson had 27 yards receiving. Cooper Kettwig posted 12 tackles on defense.

Tea Area’s Mitch Grant completed 5-of-15 passes for 44 yards and threw a touchdown to Grifin Wiebenga, who hauled in 32 yards receiving. Carter Brown rushed for 30 yards. Emmett DeGeest had eight tackles.


Elkton-Lake Benton 36, Britton-Hecla 13

BRITTON — Class 9AA No. 3 Elkton-Lake Benton ran for 243 yards as the Elks defeated Britton-Hecla in high school football action Friday.

Eliot Erickson led the charge rushing 11 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns, Colt Beck added six carries for 74 yards and a score. Beck also completed four passes for 106 yards and a touchdown. Myles Poindexter hauled two receiving touchdowns for a combined 79 yards in the win.

For BH, Bryce Hawkinson ran 29 times for 100 yards, Jace Rein added 40 yards on the ground, including 11 pass completions for 108 yards and two passing touchdowns. Bennett Suther had two catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns in the loss for the Braves.


De Smet 36, Great Plains Lutheran 0

WATERTOWN — De Smet blanked Great Plains Lutheran in Friday high school football action.

De Smet’s Slayten Wilkinson rushed for 177 yards and four touchdowns, while posting 15 tackles on defense. Coy Van Regenmorter had a rushing touchdown. Brody Halverson had 88 yards passing and five tackles on defense. Carter Wilkinson had nine tackles.

For GPL, William Krenz and Aiden Cameron had eight tackles apiece. 


Deuel 43, Webster Area 8

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel tallied 249 rushing yards as the Cardinals took down Webster Area in high school football action Friday night.

Gavin Kloos rushed 16 times for 212 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Owen Haas added 24 yards and a touchdown run as well. Aidan Sievers attempted 18 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown while Troy Jenson recorded nine catches for 89 yards. Carson Marko led the defense with nine tackles.

For WA, Gage Baumgarn had 21 rush attempts for 142 yards while Jeron McCreary completed three passes for 21 yards and a touchdown to Jack Shoemaker. Matthew Mount led the Bearcats defensively with 10 tackles in the loss.


Canistota 22, Chester Area 20

CANISTOTA — Prayden Acheson’s 3-yard two-point conversion pushed Canistota to an overtime win over Chester in high school football action Friday.

Acheson finished the game with eight carries for 41 yards and a touchdown, Payson Acheson added 56 yards and a score on the ground while Easton Miller recorded 16 carries for 78 yards and a touchdown run as well. Prayden Acheson led the Hawks on defense with 12 tackles while Miller and Jaxon Puetz each snagged interceptions.

For CA, Jaxton Opdahl had 20 carries for 120 yards and two touchdowns, Payton Wold completed seven passes for 87 yards and a touchdown, while Opdahl caught six passes for 67 yards and a score through the air in the loss. Mason Ahler had 11.5 tackles defensively while Teegan Hodne recorded two interceptions in the loss.
