Canistota 28, Deubrook Area 20 

CANISTOTA — Class 9A No. 3 Canistota outlasted Deubrook Area in a Friday night high school football game. The Hawks rushed for 196 yards on 41 carries in the win. 

Tage Ortman finished with 113 rushing yards on 25 carries and scored two touchdowns. He completed 15 of 23 passes for 202 yards and threw two more touchdown passes. Ty Doblar hauled in eight catches for 123 yards and caught two touchdowns. Doblar added 56 rushing yards. Ortman, Levi Schroeder and Prayden Acheson had 3.5 tackles apiece. Brady Scott had an interception on defense and Adam Kleinsasser had a sack. 

For Deubrook Area, Jace Vomacka completed 7 of 17 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns. He added a rushing touchdown. Gavin Landmark rushed for 78 yards on 10 carries. Carter Hawks caught four catches for 95 yards and hauled in two touchdowns. Vomacka had a team-high 8.5 tackles and Jaxon Quail had an interception. 


Parkston 50, Gregory 0

PARKSTON — Class 9AA No. 1 Parkston’s running game proved the difference as the Trojans earned a win over Gregory in Friday night football action.  

Brayden Jervik carried the ball six times, rushing for 142 yards and three touchdowns. Teammate Luke Bormann carried the ball five times, rushing for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively Kaden Holzbauer returned an interception for 78 yards and a touchdown and Jaron Nesheim also recorded an interception. Will Jodozi had five tackles and recorded a sack for the Parkston defense. 

Gregory stats were not reported.

Kimball/White Lake 48, Dell Rapids St. Mary 6

KIMBALL — Iden Meyers rushed for a pair of touchdowns to pace Kimball/White Lake to a Friday night high school football win. 

Meyer rushed for 119 yards, while Braxton Pulse and Johnny Lenz ran for 45 yards each. Park Sinclair was 4 of 5 for 40 yards passing and one touchdown. Keaton Christensen was 3 of 6 for 30 yards and a touchdown. Blake Leiferman led the team in receiving yards with 50 and one touchdown. On defense, Leiferman led the team in tackles with 13 followed by Graden Holan with 10. 

For Dell Rapids St. Mary, Nic Gaspar rushed for 65 yards and scored a 50-yard rushing touchdown for its lone score of the game. Owen Vargas finished with 17 yards passing and Lucas Flemmer added 12 yards rushing. Kade Lutt had 17 yards receiving. Flemmer and Keaton Hansen posted seven tackles apiece.

 

Winner 32, Bridgwater-Emery/Ethan 12

WINNER — Class 11B No. 1 Winner pulled away from Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan for a Friday night high school football win. 

Winner’s Aiden Barfuss scored a pair of rushing touchdowns. Zac Olson and Karson Keiser added rushing scores.

BEE’s Carson Johnson and Drake Gustafson both scored rushing touchdowns. 


Wall 41, Harding County/Bison 12

BISON — Class 9AA No. 4 Wall held off Class 9A No. 2 Harding County/Bison for a Friday night high school football win. The Eagles rushed for 217 yards in the win.

Jace Blasius led the Eagles with 133 rushing yards on 14 carries and scored a touchdown. Burk Blasius added 73 rushing yards on 10 carries and scored two touchdowns. Burk Blasius completed six passes for 44 yards and threw a passing touchdown to Thane Simons. Burk Blasius and Kaylen Spotted Bear had five tackles apiece. 

For Harding County/Bison, Rylee Veal rushed for 81 yards on 25 carries and scored a touchdown. Hayden Pihl completed 9 of 20 passes for 111 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Veal. Payton Dvorak added 53 receiving yards and Kaden Green had 27 yards receiving. Braden Routier and Nayati Bickerdyke had six tackles apiece. Dvorak had an interception on defense.

 

Platte-Geddes 27, Wolsey-Wessington 8

PLATTE — Platte-Geddes picked up a Friday night high school football win over Wolsey-Wessington. 

Platte-Geddes’ Jye Bailey logged a pair of touchdowns, including a 13-yard touchdown pass to Tanner Dyk. Parker Bailey and Joey Foxley added rushing touchdowns. 

For Wolsey-Wessington, Caleb Richmond and Moshe Richmond connected for a touchdown reception for its lone score. 

 

Hanson 73, Garretson 23

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson rushed for 306 yards en route to a 50-point Friday night high school football win over Garretson.

Brock Tuttle finished with 115 rushing  yards and scored three touchdowns. Weston Kayser scored a rushing touchdown, on an interception return, a kickoff return and hauled in a touchdown reception from Jayce Slaba. Radek Jarding, Cole Dewald and Austin Jager scored rushing touchdowns. Jason Porth had an interception on defense. 

For Garretson, Blaine Trower scored on a kickoff return and nailed a field goal. 


Burke 77, Irene-Wakonda 22

BURKE — Burke piled up 431 rushing yards to help earn its first high school football win of the season against Irene-Wakonda. 

Gentry Bartling rushed for 171 yards on eight carries and scored four touchdowns. Kaleb Schonebaum added 103 rushing yards on eight carries and scored three touchdowns. Bryce Bartling (67 yards/2 TDs) and Izaak Koenig (65 yards/TD) added to the rushing attack. Jayder Schonebaum added a kickoff return for a touchdown. Koenig added six tackles and an interception, while Carson Peck posted six tackles. 

Irene-Wakonda’s Noah Hansen completed 15 of 23 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns. Hansen added 22 rushing yards. Sam Hansen, Brenden Oien and Ben Girard caught touchdown receptions. Girard had 131 yards receiving on three catches and posted six tackles. Trevor Ryan had six tackles. 


Stanley County 44, Timber Lake 7

FORT PIERRE — Stanley County racked up 281 rushing yards in a Friday night high school football win over Timber Lake. The Buffaloes finished with 354 total yards. 

Colton Brady led Stanley County with 164 rushing yards on 18 carries and scored three touchdowns. Barrett Schweitzer added 51 rushing yards and a touchdown. Brendon Bothwell added 43 rushing yards and a score. Broch Zeeb passed for 40 yards.

For Timber Lake, Gracen Hansen completed 11 of 17 passes for 107 yards, while rushing for 36 yards on 17 carries. Gavin Farlee hauled in 11 catches for 122 yards. Kanton Hunt threw a 55-yard touchdown strike to Aidan Rough Surface for Timber Lake’s lone score.  

Alcester-Hudson 48, Avon 26

ALCESTER — Class 9A No. 5 Alcester-Hudson stayed undefeated with a high school football win over Class 9B No. 3 Avon. The Cubs rushed for 215 yards in the win. 

Mateo Kleinhans led the Cubs with 96 rushing yards on 17 carries and scored three touchdowns. He added 45 passing yards and a touchdown pass. Evan Brown logged 78 rushing yards. Ethan Bovill hauled in 45 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. Brown had seven tackles, while Kleinhans, Bovill and Dominic VanEgdom had interceptions on defense. 

Avon’s Aziah Meyer rushed for three touchdowns and Noah Watchorn added a rushing score.

 

Chamberlain 21, Vermillion 18

VERMILLION — Chamberlain clipped Vermillion in Friday night school football action. 

Chamberlain’s Cruz Soulek threw a pair of touchdown passes to Sawyer Donovan, while Soulek added a rushing touchdown.


Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 50, Gayville-Volin 6

GAYVILLE — Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy total nearly 400 total yards in a Friday night high school football win over Gayville-Volin. 

FMFA’s Dominic Spearling recorded 120 rushing yards on eight carries and scored three touchdowns. Karter Weber added 131 rushing yards on 12 carries, while throwing for 110 yards and two more touchdowns. Luke Peters and Christopher Aasen hauled in touchdown receptions. Aasen had 15 tackles on defense. 


Brandon Valley 35, Pierre 14

PIERRE — Class 11AAA No. 5 Brandon Valley snapped Class 11AA No. 1 Pierre’s 20-game winning streak on Friday. Brandon Valley rushed for 262 yards in the win. 

Brandon Valley’s Levi Veskrna rushed for 267 yards on 43 carries and scored three touchdowns. Jack Thue added 46 passing yards and a touchdown, while rushing for another score. Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte hauled in 41 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. Rylan Carroll added seven tackles and an interception on defense. 

Pierre’s Cade Kaiser completed 16 of 26 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns. Kaiser added 50 yards rushing. Jett Zabel hauled in five catches for 120 yards and caught two touchdowns. Chance Carda posted 10 tackles. 

Sioux Falls Christian 60, Milbank 14

SIOUX FALLS — Lincoln Prins tossed seven passing touchdowns to power Class 11A No. 4 Sioux Falls Christian to a Friday high school football win. 

Prins completed 15 of 24 passes for 224 yards and threw four passing touchdowns to Cole Snyder. Johnny Skyberg added a touchdown reception and returned a punt for a score. Tate Connell added 88 yards rushing. Kade VanEgdom had four tackles and Skyberg intercepted a pass. 

For Milbank, Garrett Mertens rushed for a score and threw a touchdown strike to Jayden Johnson.

Colome 46, Sunshine Bible Academy 16

MILLER — Colome rushed for 436 yards Friday earning their second win of the season with a road win over Sunshine Bible Academy. 

Eli Vobr led Colome with 15 rushes for 352 yards and five touchdowns. Vobr also completed three passes for 64 yards and a passing touchdown. Jonah Musser rushed for 46 yards while Seth Heath finished with 37 yards on the ground. Klayton Heath caught one pass for 35 yards and a touchdown. Seth Heath led the defense with 20 tackles while Jack Anderson had 13 tackles.

Troy Paul led Sunshine Bible Academy with 107 yards rushing and a touchdown. Toby Mickelson had a touchdown pass and threw for a touchdown to Anthony Mitchell. Ezra Stiegelmeier finished with nine tackles that included one tackle for loss. 


Tea Area 26, Sturgis 7

STURGIS — Class 11AA No. 3 Tea Area rushed for 278 yards to power a Friday night high school football win over Sturgis. 

Tea Area’s Brennen Conrad rushed for 106 yards on 14 carries and scored a touchdown. Keegan DeYoung added 68 rushing yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns. Cole McKinney rushed for 60 yards on nine carries. Konrad completed 6 of 14 passes for 111 yards and threw a touchdown pass to DeYoung, who hauled in 97 receiving yards. Sam Werdel had five tackles. 

For Sturgis, Aidan Hedderman rushed for 59 yards on 12 carries. Hedderman also completed 6 of 17 passes for 63 yards. Daiyn Dschaak hauled in 21 receiving yards. Gavin Sundstrom posted 14 tackles. 


Sioux Valley 62, Baltic 0

VOLGA — Class 11B No. 2 Sioux Valley scored 42 first-quarter points improving to 7-0 with a shutout win over Baltic in Friday night football action. 

The Cossacks did most of their damage on the ground Friday as Caleb Murphy rushed for 139 yards. Donovan Rose rushed for 120 yards while Boden Schiller managed 85 yards rushing. Brody Haaland had 43 receiving yards while Hudsyn Ruesink had one catch for 38 yards. Braden Danzeisen led the Sioux Valley defense with ten tackles. 

Baltic quarterback Kellen Artz completed 12 of 28 passes for 169 yards. Payton Anderson finished with 109 receiving yards while  Aaron Nordbye led the Bulldogs in rushing with 21 yards.


Dell Rapids 38, Beresford 14

DELL RAPIDS — Class 11A No. 1 Dell Rapids knocked off Beresford Friday earning a win in high school football action. 

Mason Stubbe had an efficient night on the ground rushing for 101 yards on 12 carries while scoring three touchdowns. Quarterback Jack Henry completed his only pass of the night, a 60-yard touchdown to Cole Ruesink. Ruesink also added three rushes for 29 yards and returned an interception for a touchdown. Tyrese Eastman added five tackles and a sack. 

Jack Stenen rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown. 


De Smet 56, Arlington 6

ARLINGTON — A balanced offensive attack helped Class 9B No. 2 De Smet rack up a win over Arlington in high school football action Friday. 

Quarterback Britt Carlson led De Smet with 119 yards passing and two touchdowns. Carlson also found the end zone two more times while rushing for 85 yards. Kayden Fast and Tom Aughenbaugh combined for 98 yards receiving and the two touchdown receptions. Trace Van Regenmorter had touchdown runs of 48 and 20 yards for De Smet. 

Arlington finished with 134 yards rushing with Greyson Neilson accounting for 58 yards and the Cardinals only touchdown of the night. 


Parker 28, Redfield 6

PARKER — Landon Wieman passed for three touchdowns to pace Parker to a Friday night high school football win over Redfield.

Wieman completed 10 of 20 passes for 214 yards and threw touchdown passes to Ray Travnicek, Andrew Even and Colin Robertson. Robertson hauled in five catches for 138 yards. Michael Even rushed for 51 yards on 12 carries. Riley Pankratz added 30 yards rushing on six carries. Wieman added 10 tackles and Robertson had an interception. 

For Redfield, Ethan Falk completed 9 of 24 passes for 124 yards. Justin Ratigan caught two catches for 43 yards. Chase McGillivary scored a rushing touchdown. Dylan Murray rushed for 29 yards on 10 carries. 

 

Lennox 38, Dakota Valley 6

LENNOX — Boston Katzer tossed four touchdown passes as Class 11A No. 5 Lennox defeated Dakota Valley in Friday night high school football action. 

Katzer completed 24 of 37 passes for 344 yards and threw two touchdown passes to Porter Ihnen, who hauled in nine catches for 165 yards. Tate Gerdes and Teegan Musser both caught touchdown catches. Gerdes had 27 rushing yards and five tackles, while Carter Benning had three sacks. Lucas Bontje had a 64-yard interception return for a score. 

For Dakota Valley, Jackson Boonstra rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown. Brayden Stivers added 19 receiving yards and nine tackles.


Canton 30, Madison 14

MADISON — Class 11A No. 3 Canton erupted for 439 rushing yards in a Friday night high school football win over Madison.

Cain Wallner and Canaan McCracken both rushed for more than 200 yards to power the ground attack. Wallner had 204 rushing yards on 19 carries and scored a touchdown. McCracken racked up 201 rushing yards on 30 carries and scored three touchdowns. Braxton Mulder passed for 35 yards, while Matt Anderson had 35 yards receiving yards. McCracken added five tackles on defense. Matt Anderson and Kieshon Smith both had interceptions.

For Madison, Cohen Hahn completed 7 of 11 passes for 116 yards and threw a touchdown. Ben Brooks rushed for 83 yards on nine carries and scored a touchdown. He added 61 passing yards. Brooks also hauled in 36 receiving yards. Eli Barger racked up 14 tackles and Andrew Comes intercepted two passes. 

Deuel 15, Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian 0

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel scored 15 first-quarter points and it held up against Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Friday.

Deuel’s Trey Maaland completed 6 of 15 passes for 171 yards and delivered two passing touchdowns to Oliver Fieber, who hauled in 102 receiving yards. Gabe Sather added 69 receiving yards on three catches. Owen Haas added 35 rushing yards. Maaland added two interceptions on defense and Reed VanWormer posted seven tackles.

Sabas DeHaan had 44 rushing yards in the loss. Hunter Loeffler added 41 rushing yards. Isaac Wunder passed for 15 yards and Garth Maas had 14 receiving yards. Loeffler and Wunder both posted five tackles. 

 

Great Plains Lutheran 57, Florence-Henry 14

FLORENCE — Great Plains Lutheran erupted for 43 first-half points en route to a high school football win over Florence-Henry. 

GPL’s Brady Scharleman completed 6 of 10 passes for 123 yards and rushed for 77 yards on 14 carries. Scharleman scored five total touchdowns, including three on the ground. Alex Heil hauled in 62 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. Martin Krenz also caught a touchdown pass. Thomas Erickson scored a touchdown, while Jacob Bartels booted a field goal, Myles York scored on a blocked punt and Micah Holein scored on a punt return. 

For Florence-Henry, Karter Kohlenberg rushed for 40 yards. Dawson Lantgen threw a touchdown pass to Tate Hartley. Dawson Hlavacek scored on a kickoff return.
