Tea Area 39, Aberdeen Central 7

TEA — Tea Area’s Brenner Konrad scored three touchdowns as the Titans dominated in a football victory over Aberdeen Central Friday evening.

Konrad had three pass completions on seven attempts for 115 yards and two touchdowns, while running 14 times for 101 yards, scoring another touchdown on the ground. Konrad also tallied seven tackles (2.5 for loss) and two sacks in the win. Sam Werdel scored two touchdowns on seven carries, racking up 69 yards, Riley Svanda tallied two catches for 65 yards and two touchdowns, while Werdel led the defense in tackles with 10.

Central’s Ridley Waldo carried the ball 17 times for 62 yards and a score, Brenner Waldrop had 13 completions for 160 yards, with seven passes going to Colby Dauwen for 108 yards in the loss.


Elk Point/Jefferson 36, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 33

ELK POINT — Keaton Gale threw three touchdown passes as the Huskies took down MVP in a thriller Friday night.

Gale finished the game passing 12-for-18 with 178 yards and three passing touchdowns, Gunner Ewing led the rushing attack with 130 yards and two scores on 22 carries, Aiden Hammitt caught five passes for 70 yards and two scores, while Ashton Fairbanks caught a touchdown in the win as well.

MVP’s Riley Mayer ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Brady Fox added another 60 yards and two scores, while Kyle Sandland added 28 yards and a rushing touchdown, including three catches for another 100 yards through the air.


Parkston 26, Kimball/White Lake 0

PARKSTON — Class 9AA No. 1 Parkston racked up over 300 rushing yards as the Trojans blanked Kimball/White Lake during Friday’s football action.

Kolter Kramer and Kaden Holzbauer led the charge combining for 223 yards on 19 carries, including a touchdown run by Kramer. Carter Sommer finished 4-for-6 passing with 102 yards and two passing touchdowns. Kramer reeled in a 19 yard touchdown, while Holzbauer caught a 5-yard touchdown as well. Mason Jervik and Gage Jodozi each caught one pass, combining for 78 yards.

KWL’s Iden Myers ran 20 times for 92 yards, Park Sinclair and Keaton Christensen each had 28 passing yards, while Dayn Goodman caught three passes for 53 yards in the loss.


Wagner 27, Hot Springs 0

WAGNER — Wagner pitched a high school football shutout against Hot Springs on Friday. Wagner rushed for 302 yards on 42 carries. 

Gannon Knebel led the Red Raiders with 225 yards rushing on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns. Knebel added 87 yards passing and threw a touchdown to Shae Kjeldgaard. Javian Pesicka had 70 yards rushing on 17 carries and scored a touchdown. Hunter Lhotak had 40 yards receiving. 

Hot Springs stats were unavailable. 

 

Avon 60, Burke 7

AVON — Class 9B No. 1 Avon remained undefeated behind another strong game from running back Aziah Meyer.

Meyer rushed for 105 yards on nine carries and scored three rushing touchdowns, including a 58-yard touchdown run. Grayson Ratzlaff rushed for 55 yards and scored on a kickoff return. Landon Mudder scored two rushing touchdowns, while he returned an interception for a score. Trent Soukup added a rushing touchdown. 

Burke’s Jayder Schonebaum threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Elijah Bartling.

 

Faulkton Area 46, Herreid/Selby Area 8

FAULKTON — Class 9B No. 2 Faulkton Area scored 38 second-quarter points to pull away from Herreid/Selby Area in Friday football action.

Drake Mueller, Charlie Deiter, and Landon Coyle each scored a pair of touchdowns for the Trojans, who finished with 217 total yards from scrimmage. Mueller caught a pair of touchdown passes from Gian DiMaria, while Deiter and Coyle each had two touchdown runs. 

Herreid/Selby Area’s Porter Gregg scored a touchdown.

Canistota 40, Iroquois/Lake Preston 0

CANISTOTA — Brady Scott totaled four touchdowns as Canstota blanked Iroquois/Lake Preston during Friday’s football action.

Scott passed for 126 yards and two passing touchdowns, while adding 116 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries. Easton Miller also scored two rushing touchdowns, adding 54 yards on seven carries, while receiving four passes for 26 yards, and two touchdown catches. Prayden Acheson tallied four catches for 94 yards, while Stewart Taylor led the defense with four tackles and an interception.

Lucas Peskey led the Sharks in the losing effort, tallying 85 yards on 16 carries, while adding 67 passing yards as well.


Dell Rapids 30, Madison 13

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids racked up nearly 200 rushing yards as the Quarriers defeated Madison in football action Friday.

Cole Ruesink paced the rushing attack with 60 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, Quinn Carr had 58 yards on 12 carries, While Ryan Stubbe and Drake Eastman combined for another 45 yards on the ground. Cooper Frost had 117 passing yards and one passing touchdown on the night. Ruesink and Tad Tjaden were the top targets for Frost on the night, both caught four passes for a combined 92 yards, including a receiving touchdown for Tjaden.

Madison’s Ben Brooks finished with 89 yards and a score on 10 carries, Caleb Hodges had 32 yards on seven carries, Cohen Hahn had seven completions for 57 yards and a touchdown, while Jordan Pedersen caught four passes for 11 yards and a touchdown.


Hanson 25, De Smet 8

ALEXANDRIA — Sutton Dewald rushed for 128 yards as Hanson defeated De Smet in Friday high school football action.

Dewald carried the ball 14 times and scored a touchdown. Stetson Riggs had a rushing touchdown, while Esten Schlimgen threw a 48-yard touchdown pass to Weston Kayser. Nate Wilber added a 25-yard field goal. Kayser rushed for 70 yards on 11 carries. Schlimgen completed 8-for-13 passes for 147 yards. Dewald posted nine tackles and Radek Jarding had a sack. 

De Smet’s Ganon Henrich rushed for 78 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown. 


Sioux Valley 44, Baltic 13

VOLGA — Sioux Valley’s Wyatt Hardt and Donavon Rose combined for over 200 rushing yards as the Cossacks defeated Baltic in Friday’s football action.

Hardt carried the ball nine times for 123 yards and three touchdowns, Rose tallied 112 yards and two touchdowns on four carries, while Brock Christopherson added 37 yards and a score on four carries as well.

Baltic’s Gavin Skotvold completed 10 of his 15 passes for 81 yards, Ben Erickson caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown while Braxton Allen reeled in another three for 40 yards. Jackson Goehring led Baltic in rushing with 37 yards on eight carries in the loss.


Alcester/Hudson 56, Irene/Wakonda 6

IRENE — Alcester/Hudson’s rushing attack combined for five touchdowns and 291 yards as the Cubs defeated Irene/Wakonda Friday.

Evan Brown paced the offense with 97 yards and two rushing touchdowns on six carries, Tommy Walth had 52 yards on five carries, Jose Topete-Lopez tallied 52 yards and a score on seven carries, Darin Dyskstra had a touchdown run on six carries and 44 yards, while Ethan Bovill tallied 44 yards and a score on just two carries. Bovill caught two touchdowns in the win as well, finishing with four catches for 83 yards.

Irene/Wakonda’s Jens Hansen had 57 yards passing on two completions, while leading the team in rushing with eight yards. Hansen scored the only touchdown for the Eagles on a kickoff return.


Timber Lake 20, North Central 6

TIMBER LAKE — Timber Lake racked up 375 total yards and pulled away from North Central for a Friday high school football win. 

Timber Lake’s Cole Ducheneaux completed 11-of-18 passes for 181 yards and threw a touchdown. Kanton Hunt added 93 yards passing and a touchdown. Edward Keller hauled in seven catches for 105 yards and a 58-yard touchdown. Holden Gill caught a 45-yard touchdown. 

For North Central, Jade Jacobs had a 64-yard touchdown run. Jacobs rushed for 119 yards on 13 carries. Kobe Wherry added 43 yards rushing, while Donovan Nelson passed for 31 yards. Wherry posted 10 tackles and Tim Rucker had three sacks. 


Elkton/Lake Benton 40, Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 12

ELKTON — Class 9AA No. 3 Elkton/Lake Benton’s Colt Beck tallied 307 total yards and three total touchdowns as the Elks defeated the Phoenix during Friday’s football action.

Beck passed for 169 yards and a passing touchdown on eight completions, while adding another 138 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Blake De Vries racked up 142 yards and a score on the ground in just 20 carries, while Tanner Stein and Tanner Drietz each had a rushing touchdown, combining for 68 yards. Stein also tallied 73 receiving yards on four catches, scoring one receiving touchdown.

FMFA’s Riley Tschetter passed for 295 yards and two touchdowns, throwing two interceptions in the loss. Christopher Aasen reeled in five passes for 159 yards and a score, Dominic Sperling added two catches for eight yards and a touchdown, Karter Weber had two catches for 69 yards, while Tate Sorensen added another 59 yards on four catches in the loss.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 54, Arlington 0

ARLINGTON — Class 9B No. 4 Dell Rapids St. Mary racked up 357 total yards and blanked Arlington in Friday high school football action. The Cardinals rushed for 213 yards on the ground. 

Lincoln LeBrun led the Cardinals with 112 rushing yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns. Trimmier Hanson completed 4-for-6 passes for 102 yards and three touchdowns. Hanson added a rushing touchdown. Thomas LaVoy rushed for 41 yards on five carries. Kade Lutt added a rushing score. LaVoy, Jake Kopsas and LeBrun hauled in touchdown catches. LeBrun and Jaxon Baumberger had eight and seven tackles, respectively. Lutt had six tackles and a sack. 

The Cardinals had 69 total yards, including 61 yards rushing. Keaton Hansen had 16 yards receiving.
