VERMILLION — Class A’s top-rated cross-country teams, Sioux Falls Christian revved up for the postseason by winning team titles at Thursday’s Dak XII Conference meet run on the Bluffs Golf Course. 

The Sioux Falls Christian boys won the team title with 35 points, ahead of Dakota Valley (64) and West Central (89). Lennox (102) and Vermillion (110) rounded out the top-five boys teams. 

The Sioux Falls Christian girls easily won the girls race scoring 32 points, ahead of West Central (72) and Vermillion (78). Tea Area (94) and Dakota Valley (107) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Dakota Valley senior Joe Cross finished his 5,000-meter race in a season's best time, 15:33, well ahead of Sioux Falls Christian’s Levi Vander Leest (16:07) and Dakota Valley’s Jack Brown (16:10). West Central’s Benjamin Strunk (16:22) and Sioux Falls Christian’s Bennett Wassenaar (16:25) completed the list of top-five finishers.

A terrific field assembled for the girls with Sioux Falls Christian’s Sadie Pettengill (18:48) finishingboo just ahead of Dakota Valley’s Sophia Redler (18:54) and SFC’s Jerica Glasser (18:54). SFC’s Ellie Maddox (19:08) and Tea Area’s Jaycie Babb (19:09) rounded out the top-five girls runners
