VOLGA — Sioux Falls Christian swept the team titles at Wednesday’s Region 2A cross-country meet. 

The Charger girls finished with 12 points, finishing well ahead of West Central (46) and Sioux Valley (53). The Sioux Falls Christian boys recorded 13 points, while West Central (40) and Sioux Valley (71) rounded out the top-three teams. 

Individually, Ellie Maddox covered the 5,000-meter distance at Meadow Creek Golf Course in 18 minutes and :26.60 seconds, finishing ahead of teammate Sadie Pettengill (18:34.10). Flandreau’s Faith Wiese (18:44.00), Sioux Falls Christian’s Jerica Glasser (18:52.40) and Sioux Falls Christian’s Natalie Smith (19:03.50) rounded out the top-five runners.

On the boys side, Sioux Falls Christian’s Levi VanderLeest (16:46.70) was the individual winner. Sioux Falls Christian’s Jackson Prins (16:53.80) and Sioux Falls Christian’s Josh Fletcher (17:00.60) finished second and third, respectively, West Central’s Jonathon Roth (17:10.50) and Madison’s Dylan Gerdes (17:16.10) rounded out the top-five runners.
