MADISON, Wis. — A pair of South Dakota runners toed the line at Saturday’s NCAA Division I cross-country championships in Wisconsin. 

Former Rapid City Stevens runner Simeon Birnbaum finished 74th running the 10,000-meter course in 29 minutes and :43 seconds. Birnbaum was the second Oregon runner across the line as the Ducks finished 14th in the team competition. 

The individual champion was Harvard’s Graham Blanks (28:37).

Bainbridge finished in 76th place covering the 6,000-meter course in 20 minutes and :26 seconds. Alabama’s Doris Lemngole won the women’s race (19:21). 

South Dakota State sophomore Carson Noecker just missed All-American status (top-40 make All-American team) as he finished 44th (29:29).
