State champ Sioux Falls Christian lands two players on Class A all-state volleyball first-team

State champion Sioux Falls Christian had a pair of players selected to the Class A all-state team, which was selected by the South Dakota Volleyball Coaches Association.

The Chargers, who defeated Garretson in the title match, had Sydney Tims and Katie VanEgdom selected to the first team. Sioux Falls Christian’s Kylah vanDonkersgoed was an honorable mention selection. 

Winner’s Ellie Brozik, Rapid City Christian’s Olivia Kieffer, Dakota Valley’s Logan Miller, Madison’s Audrey Nelson and Garretson’s Lily Ranschau were also first-team selections. 

Tims, a senior middle hitter, posted 306 kills and 97 blocks. Tims will play volleyball next season at Augustana University. 

VanEgdom, a senior outside hitter, finished with 312 kills and 260 digs this season. She will play volleyball next season at South Dakota State University. Tims and VanEgdom were both all-tourney selections this season. 

Brozik, a senior outside hitter, posted 405 kills, 329 digs and 89 aces for the Warriors this season. 

Olivia Kieffer, a junior outside hitter, finished with 519 kills and 329 digs this season. Kieffer, also an all-state basketball player, has verbally committed to the University of South Dakota women’s basketball team. 

A junior setter, Miller recorded 183 digs and 964 assists this season. Nelson, a sophomore middle hitter, finished with 433 kills and 83 blocks this season. Ranschau, a senior outside hitter, logged 353 kills and 275 digs this season. 

Elkton-Lake Benton’s Tevan Erickson, Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s Jocelyn Manzano, Hill City’s Abby Siemonsma, Dakota Valley’s Jorja Van Den Hul and Wagner’s Emma Yost were second-team selections.
