Team Deal sweeps Team Boyle at Great Plains all-star basketball games

WHITE RIVER — The 15th Annual Great Plains Boys/Girls All-Star Games were Wednesday at White River’s Don Barnhart gymnasium.

Team Deal, coached by Ryan Deal of 605 Sports, won the boys and girls all-star games over Team Boyle, coached by KPLO’s Darren Boyle. 

In the girls game, Team Deal rallied from a 50-41 halftime deficit for a 110-83 victory. Red Cloud’s Allison Richards was the team MVP with 26 points and six 3-pointers. Bridgewater-Emery’s Julia Weber was MVP of the Team Boyle with 14 points and four 3-pointers. Red Cloud’s Stevi Fallis won the girls 3-point contest at halftime with 27 made 3-pointers in the championship round.  

In the boys game, Team Deal rallied from a 66-58 halftime deficit for a 121-119 win. Lower Brule’s Keshaume Thigh was the team MVP with 29 points and seven 3-pointers. White River’s Dylan Marshall (28 points) was Team Boyle’s MVP. 

Thigh also won the boys 3-point contest and nailed 22 3-pointers in the championship round. Kadoka Area’s Dawson Reckling won the dunk contest.
