Winner High School standout Shawn Hammerbeck has signed his national letter of intent with the University of Nebraska football team.

Hammerbeck is a four-star offensive lineman and ranked as the No. 29th tackle in the Class of 2025, according to 247sports.com. He picked the Huskers over scholarship offers from Texas Tech, Minnesota, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, North Dakota State, Oregon State and South Dakota.

A 6-foot-7, 260-pounder, Hammerbeck is projected to play offensive tackle. He helped the Warriors win the Class 11B state football championship last month, earning the title game’s most outstanding lineman honor. He’s an all-state football and basketball player, while he’s also a state champion discus thrower.

According to 24/7Sports National Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu, Hammerbeck “Has the frame and tools to be a high-major player on the offensive or defensive lines. Has great athleticism, spring and explosion for a player with his frame. Coordinated and does athletic tasks easily on the football field and basketball court. Upside may be higher as an offensive tackle if he can add the weight and keep that athletic ability. On the defensive line, he projects as a likely five-tech. He would need to add less weight to play there but would still need additional strength work. The bottom line for Hammerbeck is he is a talented, moldable athlete who will need time come college to change his body and learn whatever position that staff needs him to play but the pay off could be tremendous.”
