 Wall girls, Philip boys win team titles at Region 7B Last Chance Meet

WALL — The Philip boys had an impressive outing at the Region 7B Last Chance Meet Friday.

The Scotties scored 149 points, well ahead of Kadoka Area (58) and Jones County (57). Lyman (56) and White River rounded out the top-five teams.

Wall won the girls title with 113 points, ahead of Philip (73.25) and St. Thomas More (73.25). Newell (58) and Kadoka Area (51) rounded out the top five teams. 

Phlip earned wins from Trey Larson in the 800-meter run (2:01.84), Wakely Burns in the 1,600-meter run 4 and:39.21) and Baylor Burns in the 3,200-meter run (10:36.63). Philip won the 400-meter relay (:46.69), the 3,200-meter relay (8:45.04), Layton Terkildsen in the high jump (6-0) and Ryker Peterson in the long jump (20-10).

Wall’s Brodi Sundall anchored the Eagles 400-meter relay to victory (1:34.61), finished second in the 800-meter run(2:02.12) and fifth in the 100-meter dash (:12.19). 

Lyman had a nice meet with Rory McManus winning the 110-meter hurdles (:15.95), Askel Ehlers in the pole vault (11-00) and Brayden Oldenkamp in the triple jump (37-5)

Harding County’s Jarett Schuchard was second in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.00) and won the 300-meter hurdles (:41.11).

Kadoka Area’s Lincoln Koehn won the discus (173-7) and placed second in the shot put (48-9.75). 

White River’s Ethan Watson won the shot put (54-6.75) and finished third in the discus (147-11). 

In girls action, Wall’s Nora Dinger won the 100-meter dash (:13.39), finished second in the 200-meter dash (:27.02), ran the opening leg on Wall’s winning 800-meter relay (1:49.38) and finished second in the long jump (16-1). Paige Kjerstad won the 200-meter dash (:27.02), finished second in the 400-meter dash (:59.91), ran on the 800-meter relay and anchored the 1,600-meter relay to a win (4:25.46). 

Philip picked up wins in the 3,200-meter run (13:09.77) and posted a solid time winning the sprint medley relay (4:31.79), Raine Snyder in the pole vault (10-0) and Amaya Camp in the triple jump (33-6). 

Jones County’s BreAna Aske won the 400-meter dash (:59.78) and Newell’s Rachel Erk won the long jump (16-3). 

Kadoka Area’s Landyn Koehn won the discus (125-6) and finished second in the shot put (33-4.5).

Edgemont’s Hadley Hollenbeck won the shot put (34-4) and placed third in the discus (106-10).
