MILLER — Miller’s Alex Schumacher and Northwestern’s Ellla Boekelheide won their respective races at Monday’s Miller Invitational at the Miller Golf Course. 

Schumacher covered the 5,000-meter course in 16 minutes and :48.61 seconds, ahead of Philip’s Wakely Burns (16:55) and Potter County’s Nicholas Schlachter (17:00). Miller’s Pierce Baumberger (17:13) and Philip’s Asher Peterson (17:25) rounded out the top-five finishers.

Boekelheide won the girls race (19:26) just in front of Mobridge/Pollock’s Heidi Olson (19:51) and Highmore/Harrold’s Autumn Fallis (20:47). Potter County’s Dannika Kaup (20:54) and Emma Schlachter (21:00) rounded out the top-five finishers. 

Philip dominated the boys team race as Burns, Peterson, Trey Larson and Tukker Boe all finished in the top-seven. The Scotties scored 17 points, well ahead of Northwestern (60) and North Central (88). Faulkton Area (104) and Highmore (105) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Potter County scored 19 points to win the girls team title.
