All-Nations Football Conference Recap - Mahpiya Luta stays undefeated, sets up key contest against Todd County

EAGLE BUTTE — The Maphiya Luta High School football team rolled to a 30-6 All-Nations Football Conference victory over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa on Sept. 4. 

Mahpiya Luta quarterback Jesse Carlow powered the win, completing 12 of 23 passes for 134 yards and tossed two touchdown passes. He added 43 yards rushing and two more scores. 

Memphis Brewer (76 yards receiving/TD) and Christian Jack (20 yards/TD) were among Carlow’s top targets. Baylee Little and Tokeya Big Crow totaled 19 and 16 yards receiving, respectively. Hunter Big Crow and Little rushed for 30 yards apiece. Tokeya Big Crow had 29 yards rushing. 

Defensively, Kendall LeBeau posted a team-high eight tackles and Andre Means had six tackles. Jack added two sacks and three sacks. Little and Timothy Romero both added sacks. Means and Fernando Montileaux both intercepted passes. 

Up next, Mahpiya Luta (2-0) hosts Todd County (2-0) on Sept. 11 in a key All-Nations Football Conference Class 9A contest. The teams are one of two undefeated teams in Class 9A, with Winnebago (2-0) also undefeated. 


Todd County tops Little Wound 

MISSION — Todd County improved 2-0 with a 44-20 All-Nations Football Conference victory over Little Wound on Sept. 4.

The Falcons were paced by Bane Yellow Eagle, who rushed for 160 yards and one touchdown. Oniya Whirlwind Soldier hauled in 124 yards receiving and a touchdown. The Falcons rushed for 260 yards. Defensively, Carter Brave posted two sacks. 

The Falcons will play Mahpiya Luta (2-0) on Sept. 11 in an All-Nations Football Conference Class 9A contest. 


Winnebago improves to 2-0 against Pine Ridge 

PINE RIDGE — Adarius Flemister powered Winnebago (Neb.) to a 56-6 win over Pine Ridge on Sept. 4.

Flemister rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns, including a 75-yard score. Defensively, Winnebago totaled seven sacks. Jared Doxey II and Ashton Lapointe combined for six sacks. Melvin Hulit recorded a pick-six on defense. 

Winnebago (2-0) plays at Lower Brule (1-1) on Sept. 11. Pine Ridge (0-2) plays at Little Wound (1-1) on Sept. 11. 


Omaha Nation coasts past Marty to stay undefeated

MARTY — Omaha Nation upped its record to 2-0 with a 56-6 win over Marty in All-Nations Football Conference action on Sept. 4. 

Omaha Nation’s Red Eagle Grinnell-Lovejoy, Davyhn Romo and Cebastian Cline-Brownrigg each had rushing touchdowns in the win. Draymond Bertucci scored a pair of defensive touchdowns. 

Omaha Nation (2-0) plays at Flandreau Indian (0-2) on Sept. 11. Marty (0-2) hosts Crow Creek (1-1) on Sept. 11.
