After winning last season’s Class B girls state track and field championship, the Bennett County Warriors are primed for another title this spring.

The Warriors won the team title with 85 points, finishing well ahead of challengers Colman-Egan (45.50) and Burke (45). Bennett County, which also won the 2025 Class B girls basketball state championship, were the first Class B school to win state championships in girls basketball and girls track and field in the same year since Armour in 1983.

Bennett County returns its three main contributors from last season’s title run in sophomore Reagan O’Neill, freshman Peyson O’Neill and sophomore Harley Harris. Reagan and Peyson are sisters, while Harris is their cousin.

The trio combined to win seven individual state championships last season, while they were also on the winning 400-meter relay team. Macy Claussen, a freshman, was also on the 400-meter relay team.

Reagan was last season’s Class B girls field MVP, while Peyson was selected as the Class B girls track MVP.

Colman-Egan, last year’s runner-up, also returns a host of sprinters that were responsible for two first-place relay finishes, a second-place finish and a fourth-place finish. Coming off a cross-country title in fall 2025, Ipswich has a wealth of promising underclassmen in the running events. The Tigers placed fourth last season at the state track and field meet.
