KYLE — A trio of Little Wound players are brushing up against 1,000-yard milestones.

In last week’s 20-14 win over Mahpiya Luta, Little Wound senior quarterback Cashus Hunter topped 1,000 career passing yards. With those kinds of numbers it should be no surprise that Hunter has two of the best receivers in the All-Nations Football Conference at his disposal. Senior Daelan LeBeaux, who did not play in last week’s win, has 945 career receiving yards and could reach the 1,000-yard milestone Friday when the Mustangs host Winnebago, Nebraska. Kinya Luta Catches Enemy, a 6-foot-7 senior wide receiver, is also closing in on 1,000 career receiving yards and will top that mark before the end of the regular season.

Mahpiya Luta seems to be improving every week and junior Braylon Little is helping the cause. In the loss to Little Wound, Little had a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown as Mahpiya Luta played one of their best games of the season.

The big game of the week saw Winnebago, Nebraska, down Todd County, 36-20. With the difficult part of their schedule behind them the Indians are likely to have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

There’s a huge showdown next week as Todd County (4-1) plays at Pine Ridge (4-1).

Last week’s results:

Pine Ridge 70, St. Francis Indian 18

Winnebago, Nebraska 36, Todd County 20
