All-Nations Football Conference first-round football playoffs kick off Tuesday afternoon

As the All-Nations football playoffs begin Tuesday, Todd County (7-0) and Pine Ridge (5-2) have byes in the first round of the Class A playoffs. 


In the upper-division of the Class A bracket  No. 4, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa (4-3) takes on No. 5 Standing Rock, ND (3-4). These two teams played each other on Oct. 14 with Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa getting an 18-12 win that ultimately clinched home field for the Larry Elwess coached team.

The other Class A semifinal pits No. 3 Winnebago, NE (5-2) vs. No. 6 Little Wound (2-5). These two teams met on Oct. 12 with Winnebago earning a 42-0 win. That semifinal game is slated to begin at 6 p.m. CST.

All-Nations Class B playoffs schedule:

The top-seeds in Class B have a bye this week as No. 1 Lower Brule (6-1) and No. 2 Tiospa Zina won’t play until Saturday. 

Crow Creek at McLaughlin: 5 p.m. MST

McLaughlin started their season 0-3 but the Mustangs turned their season around on Oct. 2 with a 64-44 win over Crow Creek. The Mustangs are averaging 31.5 points over their last four games and are led by running back Cassidy Demery. 

Crow Creek had a three-game winning streak early in the season with victories over Flandreau Indian, Crazy Horse and Marty.

Tuesday’s other semi-final sees Omaha Nation (5-2) hosting Crazy Horse (2-5). 

Omaha Nation rushes for over 180 yards per game with five backs that have 150 or more rushing yards.

Crazy Horse had wins over Flandreau Indian and Marty Indian this season. Crazy Horse lost to Omaha Nation 68-24 when they played on Aug. 31.
