Arlington girls, Flandreau Indian boys win team titles at Colman-Egan Invitational

COLMAN — The Arlington girls and Flandreau Indian boys won cross-country titles at Wednesday’s Colman-Egan Invitational run at the Sunrise Ridge Golf Course. 

Arlington won the girls title with 11 points, ahead of Chester (22) and St. Mary’s (30). The Flandreau Indian boys won the team title with 21 points, just ahead of McCrossan (24) and Elkton-Lake Benton (29). 

Chester’s Emmerson Eppard covered the 5,000-meter course in 19:53, just edging Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s Abigail Engelland (19:53) and Arlington’s Kaelyn Ulschmid (20:10). Chester’s Claire McDonald (21:01) and Arlington’s Emarie Vincent (21:07) rounded out the top-five. 

Freeman’s Lane McCune won the boys race in 17:20, ahead of McCrossan’s Ethan Hartung (17:47) and Elkton-Lake Benton’s Nate Timm (18:00). Flandreau Indian’s Amos Rockman (18:24) and Mount Vernon-Plankinton’s Hudson Schmidt (18:38) were the top five boys finishers.
