Team Morrison swept Team Deal at the 18th annual Great Plains all-star basketball games on April 16. The teams were coached by White River legend Tuffy Morrison and Ryan Deal of 605 Sports. 

In the girls contest, Team Morrison defeated Team Deal by a 78-71 score. Team Morrison was led by Pierre’s Lennix DuPris, who finished with 20 points and three 3-pointers. She was named team MVP. St. Francis’ Lesleen Makes Room For Them had 19 points and hit four 3-pointers. Mahpiya Luta’s Jodene Big Crow-Hunter had 19 points. 

For Team Deal, Lakota Tech’s Angeliyah Big Boy recorded 19 points and was named team MVP. Bennett County’s Thomiah Poor Bear scored 13 points and Lyman’s Brooke Palmer had 11 points. Big Crow-Hunter won the girls 3-point contest. 

In the boys contest, Team Morrison defeated Team Deal by a 98-92 score. Team Morrison was paced by St. Francis’ Kenyon McCloskey’s 25 points and he was named team MVP. He also won the boys 3-point contest. Little Wound’s Kinyan Catches Enemy had 15 points, while White River’s Teagen Bouman and St. Francis’ Ethan Spotted Tail had 12 points apiece. Ty Valandra-Fast Horse scored 10 points. 

For Team Deal, Lakota Tech’s Treyton Sam scored 16 points and was named team MVP. He also won the dunk contest. Pine Ridge’s Anthony Steele and St. Francis’ Mackenzie Wike scored 12 points apiece. Gregory’s Noah Bearshield scored 10 points.
