Elk Point-Jefferson 7, West Central 4

ABERDEEN — Cera Schmitz drove in four runs as Elk Point-Jefferson upset West Central in the Class A state semifinals on Friday. The Huskies will play at 4 p.m. against Dakota Valley in the Class A state championship.

Schmitz batted 2-for-4 with a triple and a homer, totaling four RBIs in the win, Laney Trometer added two RBIs on two hits while Paige Jacobs added an RBI on one hit in the win.

Regan Rasmussen allowed four runs on 11 hits and three walks in seven complete innings, striking out three.

For WC, Linzie Hoff allowed seven runs on seven hits and three walks in seven innings, striking out seven.

Hoff had two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Stella Siemonsma added two RBIs on a hit and a walk while Ayla Kramer, Miley Travis and Sophie Rolfson each had two hits in the loss.


Dakota Valley 10, Tri-Valley 6

ABERDEEN — Dakota Valley clipped Tri-Valley during Class B state semifinal action on Friday. The Panthers will face Elk Point-Jefferson in the Class B state championship at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Brennan Trotter tallied three hits and two RBIs in the win, Emma Barnett and Payten Konopasek each had two RBIs on one hit while Bria Perryman had two hits in the win.

Barnett took the win on the mound in seven complete innings, allowing six runs on 10 hits, striking out three.

For TV, Emry Jones allowed six runs on six hits and a walk, striking out three in the loss.

Ava Christensen tallied two RBIs on two hits while Jones and Rowyn Gacke each had two hits in the loss.


Beresford 4, Madison 1

ABERDEEN — Brynlee Mohning tossed seven strong innings as Beresford defeated Madison in state consolation semifinal action on Friday. The Watchdogs will face Sioux Valley at 12 p.m. in the consolation championship.

Mohning allowed one run on eight hits in seven complete innings, striking out seven batters on just 83 pitches.

Gwen Traxler tallied two RBIs on one hit while Tavyn Tiedeman, Rylie Laurvick, Kate Degen, Harper Olson and Harley Koth each had one hit in the win.

For Madison, Kelcie Dudley allowed four runs on five hits and five walks in seven innings, striking out six.

Evie Lurz tallied two hits and an RBI while Logan Prostrollo had two hits in the loss.


Sioux Valley 15, Lennox 5 (6 innings)

ABERDEEN — McKinley Schwab drove in four runs as Sioux Valley rolled past Lennox in the Class A consolation semifinals on Friday. The Cossacks will play Sioux Valley at 12 p.m. in the consolation championship.

Schwab batted 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, Shelby Hai added an RBI on three hits, Kassidy Smith tallied two RBIs on three hits, Morgan Lemme tallied two RBIs on two hits while Amelia Jacobson and Zoe Hemmestad each had an RBI in the win.

Schwab also earned the win on the mound in 4.2 innings, allowing one run on two hits and two walks, striking out 11.

For Lennox, Layci Eli allowed 12 runs on 12 hits and two walks in 3.2 innings, striking out three in the loss.

Macy Wallenstein had an RBIs on two hits, Morgan DeHaan added two RBIs on one hit, Lauren Anacker tallied an RBI on one hit while Hailey Seelen drove in a run on a walk in the loss.
