Platte-Geddes 2, Hanson 0

ALEXANDRIA — Platte-Geddes swept Hanson to earn Hanson Early Bird championship on Thursday. The set scores were 25-15 and 25-13.

Hanson’s Kiana Berg finished with three kills. Jazzy Campbell had two kills and three digs. Kylie Haiar and Taziah Hawkins had two kills apiece. Cadence Jarding finished three aces and three digs. Jersey Kampshoff finished with four aces and three digs. 

Platte-Geddes stats were not reported. 


Avon 2, Freeman 1

ALEXANDRIA — Avon defeated Freeman for third place at the Hanson Early Bird tournament on Thursday. The set scores were 19-25, 25-15 and 25-18.

Avon’s Courtney Sees finished with 12 kills and nine digs. Lila Vanderlei added six kills, three digs and two blocks. Kenna Kocmich posted 19 assists and 10 digs. Jordyn Voigt finished with nine digs. 

For Freeman, Ella Waltner and Ashlin Jacobsen had six kills apiece. Cami Fransen had 18 assists and 10 digs. Zenovia Butler posted five kills and 12 digs. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 2, Wessington Springs 1

ALEXANDRIA — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket defeated Wessington Springs for fifth place at the Hanson Early Bird tournament on Thursday. The set scores were 25-15, 20-25 and 25-23.

SCW’s Kenna Ochsner finished with 10 kills and 14 digs. Liz Boschee added nine kills and five blocks. Kenzie Schley recorded 19 assists, while Kali Hofer added 12 digs. 

For Wessington Springs, Avery Orth recorded 16 kills, 16 digs and four aces. Alyssa Grohs finished with 18 assists and 15 digs. Hannah Heezen recorded three kills and 14 digs. Raylen Fagerhaug added 12 digs. 


Deuel 3, Webster Area 2

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel edged Webster Area in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 18-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-18 and 15-9.

Deuel’s Josie Andersen finished with 16 assists, 10 kills and five aces. Sara Kreger added 11 assists, while Kaitlyn Gubrud had seven kills and eight digs. Emma Sattler finished with five kills. Annika Kriz posted nine digs. Hope Bjerke finished with two blocks. Kayden Russell recorded nine assists and one block. Ella Kerkvliet posted five digs and three aces.


Highmore-Harrold 3, Ipswich 0

IPSWICH — Highmore-Harrold swept Ipswich in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-16, 30-28 and 25-19.

Highmore-Harrold’s Kendall Cermak posted nine kills and one ace, while Brooklyn Baloun posted 15 assists and two aces. Reghan Westcott had 26 digs and Kenidey Effling posted 20 digs.

For Ipswich, Marley Guthmiller finished with 12 kills and two aces. Gabby Wald added 35 digs, six kills and two aces. Reagan Bowers had 31 assists. Kathryn Kilber had 29 digs. 


Miller 3, Winner 1

WINNER — Miller defeated Winner in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 20-25, 27-25, 25-18 and 25-23.

Miller’s Aleah Schlechter and Paige Werdel finished with 12 kills apiece. Gracen Werdel added nine kills, while Shaylee Anderberg logged eight kills. Olivia Resel had 24 assists and Heather Resel posted 18 assists. Jolie Palmer had 36 digs, while Anderberg finished with 14 digs. Joanlei Baker and Journey Palmer had 13 and nine digs, respectively. 

Winner stats were not reported. 


Northwestern 3, Wolsey-Wessington 1

WOLSEY — Class B No. 3 Northwestern defeated Wolsey-Wessington in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-21, 25-21, 13-25 and 25-23.

Northwestern’s Ashley Haven finished with 15 kills and three blocks. Payton Grandpre added 10 kills and 18 digs. Ana Ratigan finished with five kills, while Ella Boekelheide had 31 assists and 22 digs. 


Bridgewater-Emery 3, Corsica-Stickney 0

CORSICA — Bridgewater-Emery swept Corsica-Stickney in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-8, 25-14 and 25-15.

Bridgewater-Emery’s Oakley Weber finished with 13 kills, 12 digs and six assists. Hayden Hofer added 16 assists, eight digs and four kills. Lexie Golder posted four kills and four blocks. Kennadie Roskens recorded 14 digs. 

For Corsica-Stickney, Sophie DeLange finished with five kills, nine assists and five digs. Braylee Bordewyk had nine assists, nine digs and three kills. Ashlyn Lefers finished with five digs and three kills. Brooklyn Bosma posted three digs and four kills. Cali Vanden Hoek had 13 digs.  


Burke 3, Colome 0

BURKE — Burke swept Colome in Thursday high school volleyball play. The set scores were 25-18, 25-7 and 25-8,

Burke’s Emmie Hausmann finished with 11 kills, seven aces and five digs. Kailee Frank recorded 11 kills, seven digs and three aces. Paige Bull had five kills and one block. Piper Hanson had three aces. Elle Johnson recorded 11 digs. Bridget Elaison and Ava Sargent had 17 and 15 assists, respectively. Johanna Vaughn had five digs.

For Colome, Westlie Cahoy had 12 digs. 


Faulkton Area 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0

FAULKTON — Faulkton Area swept Sunshine Bible Academy in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-8, 25-14 and 25-13.

Faulkton Area’s Carley Cotton finished with 15 kills and 10 digs. Addison Melius recorded eight kills, while Micah Martinmaas posted four aces and 21 assists. Teagan Baloun had 10 assists, nine digs and three aces. 

For SBA, Natasha Appel had two kills and Lydia Lo recorded two aces. Abby Hinman had three assists and three digs. Kennedy Keck and Betra Amare had four and three digs, respectively. 


Hamlin 3, Groton Area 2

GROTON — Hamlin outlasted Groton Area in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 20-25, 27-25, 25-21, 22-25 and 15-13.

Hamlin’s Addison Neuendorf recorded 12 kills, 13 assists, 10 digs, six aces and two blocks. Emily Everson finished with nine kills, while Marissa Bawdon posted seven kills and 15 assists. Grace Opdahl logged four aces and 15 digs. Jayci Trowbridge recorded 10 digs. 

Groton Area stats were not reported. 


Castlewood 3, Hitchcock-Tulare 0

TULARE — Castlewood swept Hitchcock-Tulare in Thursday high school volleyball play. The set scores were 25-22, 25-17 and 26-24.

Castlewood’s Presley Knecht logged 10 kills and 10 digs. Cassidy Kirwan added eight kills, while Gracie Haug posted 26 assists. Kylie Wittnebel had two aces and Emerson Carter logged one ace.

For Hitchcock-Tulare, Katelyn Schroeder posted nine kills and 12 digs. Gracyn Bixler finished with 11 assists. Lila Johnson recorded five assists, while Ella Johnson had five aces, six kills and 11 digs. Cambree Hoekman had two aces. 


Florence-Henry 3, Great Plains Lutheran 0

WATERTOWN — Florence-Henry swept Great Plains Lutheran in a Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-14, 25-16 and 25-15.

Florence-Henry’s Caylin Kelly recorded 16 kills, 13 digs and four blocks. Taylor Watson added eight kills and 12 digs. Kaija Gusso finished with 28 assists.

Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 3, Howard 0

RUTLAND — Oldham-Ramona/Rutland swept Howard in Thursday high school volleyball play. The set scores were 25-15, 25-21 and 25-23.

ORR’s Julia Trygstad recorded 12 kills, 11 digs and three blocks. Camlin Schneider had nine kills and four aces. Emily Matson dished out 29 assists. Bella Malisch and Kailey Pearson recorded six digs apiece. 

Howard’s Abby Aslesen finished with 11 kills, six digs, four blocks and three aces. Tana Hoyer finished with six kills and four assists. Liz Albrecht added 19 digs and 11 assists. Taryn Mentele logged seven digs and three kills.


Menno 3, Centerville 2

CENTERVILLE — Menno outlasted Centerville in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 21-25, 25-11, 22-25, 25-17 and 15-9.

Menno’s Ashton Massey logged 19 kills, five digs and five blocks. Ellyana Ulmer posted 40 digs and eight kills. Joslynn Fischer finished with eight kills, 29 assists, 22 digs and four aces. Maggie Miller posted 36 digs. Haylee Hall posted 15 digs and three aces. Taylor Freier added 31 digs and four kills.

For Centerville, Thea Gust finished with 14 kills and eight digs. Rylie Tieman, Lillie Eide and Emma Marshall had six kills apiece. Marshall had 11 digs, while Tieman had nine digs, two blocks and two aces. Keira Austin posted 32 assists, six digs and three aces. 


Colman-Egan 3, Baltic 2

COLMAN — Class B No. 5 Colman-Egan outlasted Baltic in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 19-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21 and 15-10.

Colman-Egan’s Brynlee Landis finished with 18 kills and 20 digs. Elaine Rhode recorded 10 kills, while Anna Zwart finished with nine kills. Lanie Mousel had 23 assists and 16 digs. Presley Luze had 31 digs, while Kaylee Voelker finished with 21 assists and 21 digs. 

For Baltic, Baily Teveldal had 47 assists, 24 digs and six kills. Daynica Witzel finished with 21 digs, 15 kills and four aces. Meredith Larson had 12 kills and nine digs. Maiya Fredrickson had eight kills and seven digs. 


Deubrook Area 3, De Smet 0

WHITE — Deubrook Area swept De Smet in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-13, 25-16 and 25-20.

Deubrook Area’s Mattie Bauman posted 10 kills and 12 assists. Hannah Kjelden had 10 kills and nine digs, while Madalyn Bauman posted 20 assists. Zoey Molengraaf had six kills. 

De Smet’s Hazel Luethmers finished with 11 kills and five digs, while Mirra Beck posted six kills and eight digs. Megan Dylla added five digs and 10 assists. 


Wagner 3, Vermillion 0

VERMILLION — Class A No. 3 Wagner swept Vermillion in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-9, 25-18 and 25-12.

Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal and Shona Kocer logged eight kills apiece. Koupal added four aces and four blocks. Kocer recorded four blocks. Ravyn Medricky posted five kills, three blocks and four aces. Madi Knebel and Kya Kjeldgaard logged 18 and eight digs, respectively. Macy Koupal dished out 21 assists.

Vermillion stats were not reported. 


Dell Rapids 3, West Central 0

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids swept West Central in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-11, 25-21 and 25-19.

Dell Rapids’ Madelynn Henry recorded 13 kills and eight digs. Lauryn Kloth recorded 10 kills and two blocks. Sophi Randall added 34 assists, three aces and one block. Alaina Wolff recorded 10 digs and Kylee Fiddelke had two aces. 

For West Central, Kara Gabbert finished with six kills. Cambree Ideker and Marissa Dobbs posted three kills apiece. Dobbs finished with five assists and one ace. Ellie Lienhard logged seven assists and Jocelyn Nilson had 21 digs. Landry Heath finished with eight digs. 


Sioux Valley 3, Clark/Willow Lake 0

VOLGA — Sioux Valley swept Clark/Willow Lake in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-12, 25-19 and 25-20.

Sioux Valley’s Kaedyn Sapp finished with 14 kills and 18 digs. Adison Renkly posted nine kills and two solo blocks, while Keyra Kruse posted six kills. Allie Hofer had six kills and Jada Knutson posted five kills. Caitlin Russell and Talya Vincent posted 13 digs apiece. Sunny Hesby and Caitlyn Cradduck posted 19 digs apiece. 

For Clark/Willow Lake, Shay Michalski finished with eight kills, while Avery Lee had a team-high 11 digs. Hannah Heiman finished with six kills and five digs. Sara Thonvold posted eight digs and four kills. Tehya Vig finished with nine digs. Sami Brenden dished out 23 assists. 


Madison 3, Flandreau 0

MADISON — Madison swept Flandreau in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-22, 25-20 and 25-18.

Madison’s Audrey Nelson logged 15 kills, three aces and one block. Lydia Nelson and Karley Lurz had four kills apiece. Callie McDermott had two aces and 12 digs. Keara Wagner had eight digs, while Karley Theede added 28 assists. Ella Peterreins posted two blocks.

For Flandreau, Claire Sheppard finished with seven kills and four blocks. Lizzie Pavlis posted six kills and three blocks. Abby Schoberl recorded three aces and 30 assists. Addy Hammer had five digs.  


Sioux Falls Christian 3, Tea Area 0

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian swept Tea Area in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-16, 25-13 and 25-9.

Sioux Falls Christian’s Taylor Byl recorded 10 kills and Rachel Dieieman had seven kills. Maggie Keepers posted four aces. Addison Barber posted 26 assists and two aces. Lavin Maddox recorded eight digs. Sidney Oostra logged six digs, five kills and three aces. 

Tea Area’s Julia Haack and Anaya Connors finished with four kills apiece. Kalli Boom logged nine digs, while Claire Hank had 14 assists and six digs.  


Harrisburg 3, Brandon Valley 1

HARRISBURG — Class AA No. 1 Harrisburg downed Brandon Valley in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-16, 25-20, 19-25 and 25-21.

Harrisburg’s Gabi Zachariasen finished with 28 kills, while Josalyn Samuels logged 48 assists. Maggie Meister posted 18 digs. 

Brandon Valley’s Jayaunna Stroh and Jersie Melcher had 15 and seven kills, respectively. Riya Sheley had 30 assists and three aces. Sydney Benson posted four aces and 13 digs. Alli Gawarecki had 12 digs. 


Dakota Valley 3, Yankton 0

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 2 Dakota Valley swept Yankton in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-23, 25-18 and 25-23.

Dakota Valley’s Sophie Tuttle recorded 11 kills, six digs and four aces. Claire Munch posted nine kills, three digs and two blocks. Sammy Kimball and Emerson Mead logged seven kills piace. Jacee Squire and Bria Perryman posted 14 assists apiece. Squire had three aces and Perryman added three aces. 

For Yankton, Macy Drotzman finished with 10 kills, three blocks and three digs. Camille McDermott finished with 11 assists, 10 digs and three kills. Camryn Koletzky recorded six digs and four kills. Ava Koller posted four assists and three digs. Payton Moser logged six digs.
