Aberdeen Circus 13, Rapid City Diamondbacks 3

ABERDEEN — The Aberdeen Circus used 14 hits and 13 runs to fly past the Rapid City Diamondbacks for a win at the Class A amateur baseball tournament Sunday.

Chad Ellingson picked up the win for Aberdeen, allowing three runs on nine hits in eight innings, while striking out seven.

Michael Babcock and Kelly Coates led Aberdeen with three hits apiece, while Dalton Cox, Brandon Kusler, and Ryan Ellingson each tallied two hits. Colton Cox led with three RBI, while Kusler, Dalton Cox, and Karson Hesser added two RBI each.

Devin Romney took the loss for Rapid City, pitching seven innings and allowing ten runs on 11 hits, while striking out two.

Ty Bissonette, Jesse Riddle, and Francisco Dicochea collected two hits apiece, while Riddle, Cale Fierro, and Kyle Schlueter each had one RBI.

Sioux Falls Squirrels 17, Sioux Falls Hops 1

BROOKINGS — The Sioux Falls Squirrels used 13 hits and 17 runs to race past the Sioux Falls Hops for a win at the Class A amateur baseball tournament Sunday.

Stuart Baruth took the win for the Squirrels, allowing one run on four hits in six innings, while striking out three.

Jack Simonsen led the Squirrels with four hits in five at bats, while Zach Pibble, Sam Rall, and Carter Ades added two hits apiece. Simonsen, Damen Baruth, and Connor Hurley each drove in three runs.  

Jacob Glovich took the loss for the Hops, giving up eight hits and ten runs in 3 â…“ innings, while striking out two.

Bryce Ronken led the Hops batting 2-for-2 at the plate, while Charlie Dubanoski drove in one run.
