Sioux Falls Brewers 10, Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels 8

MITCHELL — Sam Siegel drove in five runs as the Brewers advanced to the State A championship game Saturday.

Siegel tallied five RBIs on two hits, a walk, a double, and a three-run homer, Riley Johnson drove in two runs on two hits and a walk, TJ Miller and Jack Sutton each tallied a hit and an RBI, while James Borges, Ian Strum, Sam Baier, and Drue Soukup each tallied hits in the win.

Carson Askdal allowed two runs on five hits and two walks in six innings, striking out four.

For the Flying Squirrels, Daniel Buteyn allowed four runs on two hits and four walks, striking out three.

Zach Dibble and Lucas Wilber each tallied three hits and a combined three RBIs, Dexter Payne and Jaden Holzer each drove in a run on two hits, while Trevor Hurley drove in a run on a hit and two walks in the loss.

Sioux Falls Brewers will face the Renner Monarchs Sunday at noon for the State A championship.


Sioux Falls Brewers 8, Aberdeen Circus 0

MITCHELL — Bryce Ahrendt tossed seven shutout innings as Sioux Falls eliminated Aberdeen from the Class A state tournament Saturday.

Ahrendt allowed just six hits in seven innings, striking out four to earn the victory on the mound.

Sam Siegel drove in two runs on three hits, a double, and a walk, James Borges and Ian Strum each drove in two runs on a combined hit and three walks, Sam Baier drove in a run on a hit and a walk, while Riley Johnson, Drue Soukup, and Joe Kolbeck each tallied hits in the win.

For Aberdeen, Lucas Heiser allowed six runs on four hits and four walks in 3.1 innings.

Josh Steinwandt tallied two hits, while Colton Cox, Michael Babcock, Easton Millar, and Jesse Babcock each tallied two hits in the loss.

Aberdeen is eliminated from the State A tournament with the loss.
