Falcon track teams sweep titles at Todd County Invitational

MISSION — The Todd County boys and girls track teams won titles at Wednesday’s Todd County Invitational on Wednesday.

The Falcon boys scored 159 points, well ahead of White River (88) and Little Wound (88). Jones County (57) and Lakota Tech (56) rounded out the top five teams. 

The Lady Falcons scored 119 points, ahead of Jones County (87) and Lakota Tech (83). Lyman (73) and Mahpiya Luta (67) rounded out the top five girls teams. 

The Todd County foursome of Patrick Iron Cloud, Ken Clavano, Talan Iyotte and Ty Valandra won the 400-meter relay (:45.35) to highlight performances at Wednesday’s Todd County Invitational. That relay time is currently the No. 12 Class A time in the 400-meter relay. 

Other winners for the Falcon boys were Ty Valandra in the 200-meter dash (:23.84), Bryson Edwards in the 300-meter hurdles (:45.82) and Jacob Allen in the triple jump (35-11.25).

The Falcons also won the 1,600-meter relay (4:03.68).

For White River, Elijah Haukaas won the 1,600-meter run (5:03.21), Liam White Hat won the shot put (39-02) and Gunner Watson won2w the javelin (129-03). 

Other winners on the boys side were Crazy Horse’s Onzei Weaver in the 100-meter dash (:11.84), Crow Creek’s Stephan Jones in the 400-meter run (:55.40), Jones County’s Adrik Schoon in the 800-meter run (2:10.84), Crazy Horse’s Edward Black Hawk in the 3,200-meter run (11:52.88), Lyman’s Cole Kieffer in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.96), Lower Brule’s Nate Middletent in the discus (131-11), Lyman’s Dawson Volmer in the high jump (5-08) and Little Wound’s Cashus Hunter in the long jump (18-11.75). 

Other relay winners were Jones County in the 800-meter relay (1:37.32), St. Francis Indian in the 3,200-meter relay (9:49.74) and Lakota Tech in the sprint medley relay (4:05.65). 

The Todd County girls won the 1,600-meter relay (5:41.99), the 3,200-meter relay (13:59.00). Todd County junior Alexsis Red Bird won the 3,200-meter run (15:55.42). 

Lyman’s Booke Montgomery won the 100-meter dash (:13.03) and anchored the winning 400-meter relay (:53.29) and 800-meter relay (1:52.89) and ran a leg on the winning sprint medley relay team (4:42.61). Lyman’s Addy Moran won the discus (92.05).

Mahpiya Luta’s Ashlan Carlow won the 100-meter hurdles (:16.67) the 400-meter dash (1:01.09) and finished third in the high jump (5-00). 

Lakota Tech’s Brandy Marshall won the 800-meter run (3:00.47) and the 1,600-meter run (6:30.26). The Tatanka also had wins from Angeliyah Big Boy in the shot put (32-03) and Cante White Bull in the javelin (85-08). 

Jones County freshman BreAna Aske won the 200-meter dash (:28.83) and the long jump (15-09). 

Other winners for the girls were Jones County’s Jones County’s Aubrie Norman in the 300-meter hurdles (:54.55), White River’s Maleena Brave in the high jump (5-00) and Pine Ridge’s Louise Pond in the triple jump (32-05.75).
