BOX ELDER — St. Thomas More downed Douglas in a four-set high school volleyball match on Tuesday. 


Hanson 2, Platte-Geddes 1

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson clipped Platte-Geddes in the semifinals of the Hanson Early Bird volleyball tournament on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-18, 20-25 and 29-27.

Hanson’s Ava Doyle finished with six kills and even digs. Jersey Kampshoff posted eight assists, three digs and two aces. Jazzy Campbell added six digs, five aces and five kills. Cadence Jarding recorded six assists and four digs. Kylie Haiar had four kills and two aces.

For Platte-Geddes, Kori VanDerWerff finished with 11 kills and four digs. Addison DeVries had six digs, while Kolby VanDerWerff added 14 assists. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 2, Freeman Academy/Marion 0 

ALEXANDRIA — Andes Central/Dakota Christian swept Freeman Academy/Marion in the semifinals of the Hanson Early Bird volleyball tournament on Tuesday. The set scores were 30-28 and 25-20.

ACDC’s Mahpiya Irving finished with 10 assists, while Halle Olson added six kills and three digs. Syrianna Never Misses A Shot logged eight digs. Josie Brouwer had three kills. Cambria Ronfeldt finished with three kills, one assist and one dig.

For FAM, Hailey Stahl had four kills and two digs. Anna Olson posted four kills and one assist. Kallie Johnson posted three kills. Emma McConniel logged four digs and two assists. Harli Ross had six assists. 


Hanson 2, Wessington Springs 1

HANSON — Hanson knocked off Wessingington Springs in three sets in high school volleyball action Tuesday. The set scores were 25-18, 20-25 and 25-21.

Kylie Haier paced Hanson with five kills, five blocks, an assist and a dig. Ava Doyle finished with six kills, a block, three assists, three digs and four aces. Claire Bridge led with 26 digs and Jersey Kampshoff led with 11 assists. 

Leading Wessington Springs was Ashlynn Weber with nine kills, three assists, six digs and two aces. Mariah Messmer led with 33 assists and 14 digs. 


Freeman Academy/Marion 2, Freeman 0

HANSON — Freeman Academy Marion defeated Freeman in high school volleyball action Tuesday at the Hanson Classic. The set scores were 25-20 and 25-21. 

Anna Olson led Freeman Academy/Marion with three kills and five blocks. Lanae Waldner added four kills and three assists while Maliyah Nankievel had three kills, two blocks, two assists and two digs. 

Korie Ortman led Freeman with 14 digs while Ella Waltner pitched in with a team leading three kills. 


Platte-Geddes 2, Avon 1

HANSON — Platte-Geddes defeated Avon in three sets in high school volleyball action Tuesday. The set scores were 18-25, 25-21 and 29-27. 

Leading Platte-Geddes was Kori VanDerWerff with 16 kills, two assists, seven digs and an ace. Kolbi Hoffman finished with 16 assists while Addison DeVries added three kills and 13 digs. 

Lila Vanderlei led Avon with three kills, three assists and 17 digs. Lexi Vanderlei added a kill, eight digs and an ace while Rilyn Thury finished with 14 digs and an ace. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 2, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 0

HANSON — Andes Central/Dakota Christian swept Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in high school volleyball action Tuesday. The set scores were 25-19 and 25-23. 

Leading Andes Central/Dakota Christian was Syrianna Never Misses A Shot with 13 digs. Mahpiya Irving contributed six blocks, six assists, a dig and five aces while Josie Brouwer had two kills, five blocks and a dig. 

Kaylie Robinson paced Sanborn Central/Woonsocket with five kills, two blocks, nine digs and two aces. Liz Boschee had four kills, a block and two digs while Kali Hofer had seven assists and a dig. 


Chester 3, Flandreau 0

CHESTER — The defending Class B champions and top ranked Flyers opened their season with a straight set sweep of Flandreau in high school volleyball action Tuesday. The set scores were 25-4, 25-10 and 25-6.

Jacy Wolf had a solid all-around game with nine kills, six assists and 13 digs. Lily Van Hal finished with eight aces, six kills, 20 assists and 13 digs. Emmerson Eppard chipped in with six kills and Gracie Huntimer led with 23 digs. 

Sadie Iott paced Flandreau with a kill and 12 digs. Hannah Krull and Olivia Peters each had two blocks for the Fliers. 


West Central 3, Vermillion 0 

HARTFORD — West Central swept Vermillion in high school volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-21, 25-23 and 25-15. 

West Central’s Adisyn Bartman posted eight aces, four digs and two blocks. Avery Nothdurft added 11 digs, while Maddyx Ingalls posted six digs, six assists and four kills. Cambree Ideker had eight assists and six digs. Izzy McKinney added four kills.

Vermillion stats were unavailable. 


Miller 3, Kimball White Lake 0

WHITE LAKE — Class A No. 4 Miller swept Kimball/White Lake in high school volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-14, 25-13 and 25-9. 

Miller’s Olivia Resel posted five aces and 28 assists. Aleah Schlechter finished with eight kills and two aces while Jolie Palmer had 11 digs, four assists and three aces. Gracen Werdel finished with six kills and a dig and Paige Werdel also had six kills. 

Stats for Kimball/White Lake were not available. 


Northwestern 3, Aberdeen Roncalli 1

ABERDEEN — Class B No. 3 Northwestern defeated Aberdeen Roncalli in a four-set high school volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 21-25, 25-17, 25-21 and 25-18.

Northwestern’s Ashley Haven finished with 18 kills, while Brooklyn Satter had 10 kills. Taylor Vetter added nine kills and 17 digs. Ella Boekelheide posted 41 assists, 19 digs and two aces. Tara Blachford had 29 digs. 

Roncalli stats were not reported. 


Ipswich 3, Highmore-Harrold 1

HIGHMORE — Ipswich defeated Highmore-Harrold in four sets in high school volleyball action Tuesday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-7, 23-25 and 25-16. 

Ipswich’s Marley Guthmiller led the Tigers with 13 kills and 19 digs. Reaghan Bowers led with 39 assists and Briana Geditz led with 39 digs. Anna Nierman finished with two blocks and Natalie Crissman led with six aces. 

Leading Highmore-Harrold was Brooklyn Baloun who had 13 assists and 11 digs. Jada Baloun added two blocks and five kills and Callie Chavez finished with 10 digs. 


Florence-Henry 3, Redfield 2

REDFIELD — Florence-Henry edged Redfield in a five-set high school volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 23-25, 25-19, 26-24, 21-25 and 15-13.

Florence-Henry’s Roean Raymer posted 10 kills, while Rebecca Fleming posted four kills. Kaylee Vavruska had five aces and Andie Rislov posted three aces and 22 digs. Ashlynn Vavruska added 11 digs. 

Redfield’s Charli Jungwirth posted 14 kills, while Kinley Smith added five aces. Hayden Gall posted 18 assists and 12 digs. Brynn Giblin had two blocks. 


Centerville 3, Viborg-Hurley 2

VIBORG — Centerville clipped Viborg-Hurley in a five-set high school volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-27, 21-25, 25-22, 25-16 and 15-10.

Centerville’s Althea Gust posted 14 kills and seven assists. Emma Marshall added 18 digs, three blocks and 11 kills. Addison Buckneberg had five blocks. Tessa Eide posted seven kills and three blocks. Lillee Shearer had eight kills, while Harper Wattier posted 23 digs. Keira Austin had 37 assists.

For VH, Addy Huth had 17 kills and five digs. Jenna Graves recorded 21 assists, 27 digs, four kills and four aces. Danica Gordon recorded nine kills and seven digs. Kyla Peterson posted 22 digs. Aubree Schwartz logged six kills and 10 digs. Natali Blair had 14 assists, 13 digs and four kills. 


Wolsey-Wessington 3, Arlington 0

ARLINGTON — Wolsey-Wessington swept Arlington in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-18, 25-18 and 25-18.

Wolsey-Wessington’s Timber Haeder finished with nine kills, while Roxy Glanzer added eight kills and nine digs. Samara Clemente had seven kills and four blocks. Kendal Uttecht had 33 assists. Shae Uttecht recorded 15 digs. Tatum Luce had three blocks.

For Arlington, Jaelyn Huntimer finished with 12 kills and 15 digs. Halley Miller had eight kills, while Rachel Steffensen added seven kills. Sony Johnson posted 30 assists and one block. Madi Bacon had 12 digs and one ace. 


Menno 3, Alcester-Hudon 1

MENNO — Menno opened their season with a four set win over Alcester-Hudson. The set scores were 26-24, 25-14, 25-27 and 27-25. 

Lexie McNinch led Menno with six kills, six blocks, an assist and a dig. Ellyana Ulmer finished with 20 digs and two kills and Joslynn Fischer led with 24 assists and 17 digs. Nora Robb added five kills and 19 digs. 

Emma Moller led Alcester-Hudson with 10 kills, a block and 11 digs. Hannah Ahart added nine kills and 23 digs while Paxtyn Moller finished with 22 assists and 16 digs. 


Faulkton Area 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0 

MILLER — Faulkton Area swept Sunshine Bible Academy in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-17, 25-11 and 25-16.

Faulkton Area’s Carley Cotton recorded seven aces, 25 assists and six digs. Grace Kopecky added four aces, while Presleigh Martinmaas had eight kills and four digs. Anika Mueller added five kills. 

For SBA, Soleil Mickelson finished with two kills. Abby Hinman had one ace and one assist. Ciera Mickelson posted two blocks and one kill. 


Sisseton 3, Wilmot 2

WILMOT — Sisseton outlasted Wilmot in a five-set high school volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 13-25, 26-24, 19-25, 25-19 and 15-5.

Wilmot’s Jada Cameron and Addison Heinje posted eight kills apiece. Mya Heinje logged eight digs, while Reese Rudebusch added six digs. Addison Heinje had six digs and four blocks. Cameron added three blocks.

Sisseton stats were unavailable. 


Sioux Falls Jefferson 3, Sioux Falls Lincoln 1

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 5 Sioux Falls Jefferson defeated Sioux Falls Lincoln in a four-set high school volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 22-25, 25-16, 25-23 and 25-21.

Jefferson’s Emory Brosnahan posted 16 kills and 19 digs. Isabel Simmons had three blocks, 10 kills and 13 digs. Addie Warnke finished with eight kills and two blocks. Peyten Kruill added six kills and nine digs. Brooke Bowen finished with 21 digs, while Averi Schmitt had 12 digs. Audrey Simmons recorded five kills and two blocks.
