Canton edges Winner Area in Class B dual wrestling thriller

CANTON — After thirteen matches wrestled at Friday’s dual between Winner and Canton the Warriors held a 34-31. 

Wrestling the final match of the night was Canton’s Hunter Richmond, ranked No. 1 in Class B (285) and Winner’s Derek Fenenga, unranked but previously ranked at 285. 

Needing at least a major decision to claim the dual win Canton’s Richmond won 6-0 earning three points that tied the match at 34-34.

It took several minutes for officials to go through the criteria but the C-Hawks prevailed in terms of winning eight matches to Winner’s six match wins.
