DELL RAPIDS — Chester Area’s Ayla McDonald and Ashton Olivier captured individual titles at Tuesday’s Dell Rapids St. Mary Invitational. 

Olivier fired a 76 — 39 on the front nine and 37 on the back nine — to earn the boys individual medalist honors at Rocky Run Golf Course. Howard’s Lane Hodges also shot a 76, but Olivier earned the win due to a tie-breaker. Hodges also shot a 39 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine. 

Chester Area’s Chase McDonald (77), Hanson’s A.J. Wilber (78) and Chester Area’s Brayden Vogel (80) rounded out the top-five boys golfers. 

Ayla McDonald carded an 85, edging Chester Area’s Jayda McDonald and Flandreau’s Keva Bursheim by one stroke for the girls individual medalist. Ayla McDonald and Jayda McDonald both shot 42s on the front nine, but Ayla’s 43 on the back nine proved to be the difference. Bursheim shot a 45 on the front nine and a 41 on the back nine. Deubrook Area’s Bailey Landmark (90) and Howard’s Piper Thompson (91) rounded out the top-five girls golfers.  

The Chester Area boys shot a 233 to earn the team title, finishing ahead of Hanson (249) and Garretson (256). The Deubrook Area girls captured the team title with a 277, finishing ahead of Chester Area (299) and Howard (302).
