Chester’s Jacy Wolf, Lily Van Hal headline Class B all-state volleyball team

Jacy Wolf and Lily Van Hal of state champion Chester highlight the 2025 South Dakota Class B volleyball all-state first team. 

Van Hal and Wolf were a dynamic duo in Chester’s 33-3 season, winning its third consecutive Class B state volleyball championship, the first three-peat in the class since Warner (2012-14).

Van Hal, a 5-foot-8 senior setter, tallied 547 assists with 348 kills, 293 digs and 95 aces this season. Van Hal is now a four-time all-state selection and a five-time all-tournament team selection as well, amassing a school record 3,258 assists with 1,656 digs, 1,583 kills and 484 aces in her career. Van Hal will play college volleyball at the University of Denver.

Wolf is now a two-time all-state selection earning honors as a sophomore for the Lady Flyers. This year Wolf totaled 385 digs, 362 kills with 40 aces, adding to her career totals of 1,791 digs, 1,427 assists and 1,369 kills.

Reagan O’Neill was instrumental in Bennett County’s first trip to the state volleyball tournament since 2006, finishing fourth this season. The 5-foot-11 middle hitter totaled 589 kills, 281 digs, 64 blocks and 62 aces as a sophomore. O’Neill was the 2025 Western Great Plains Conference volleyball MVP. She is also an all-state basketball player, powering the Warriors to the Class B state championship in March.

Brynlee Landis was a pivotal player in Colman-Egan’s 22-7 season. The 5-foot-8 outside hitter ended her senior year with 376 kills, 274 digs, 45 blocks and 44 aces. Landis has tallied over 1,000 kills and digs in her career and was an all-Dakota Valley Conference selection this season. She will play college basketball at Dordt University.

Ashley Haven earns her third-consecutive all-state honors after powering Northwestern to a 37-3 record with a third-place finish at the state tournament. Haven totaled 591 kills, 326 digs, 107 blocks and 33 aces this season. Haven was the 2025 Lake Region Conference volleyball MVP as well.

Jaycee Jung was stellar in Warner’s runner-up season. The 5-foot-9 outside hitter netted 466 digs, 355 kills with 42 aces in her sophomore campaign. Jung was a Lake Region Conference first team selection, earning her first all-state honors this year.
