Cheyenne-Eagle Butte boys look strong in winning Todd County Invitational

MISSION — Xavier Sanchez-Gonzalez won the individual title and the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte boys won the team title at Tuesday’s Todd County Invitational run at the Prairie Hills Golf Course.

Sanchez-Gonzalez covered the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes and 00.12 seconds, ahead of Crow Creek’s Justin St. John (18:08) and White River’s Elijah Haukaas (18:14). Todd County’s Michael Prue (18:24) and Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s Jackson Taken Alive (18:43) rounded out the top five. 

The Cheyenne-Eagle Butte boys won the team title with 38 points, ahead of White River (50). Little Wound (56) and St. Francis Indian (99) rounded out the top-four teams. 

No team points were awarded for the girls competition.
