MISSION — Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s Jayden Taken Alive and Aubree Miner claimed individual titles at Tuesday’s Todd County Invitational. 

Taken Alive covered the 5,000-meter distance in 17 minutes and :17.14 seconds, finishing ahead of CEB’s Jackson Taken Alive (17:37.03). CEB’s Xavier Sanchez-Gonzalez (18:00.04) and Demetrius Sanchez-Gonzalez (18:13.90) finished third and fourth, respectively. White River’s Elijah Haukaas placed fifth in 18:37.03. 

Miner won the girls race in 22:36.83, finishing ahead of Lakota Tech’s Brandy Marshall (23:32.49). St. Francis Indian’s Shelly Larvie (23:43.17), White River’s Amya Prue (24:04.89) and Todd County’s Alexsis Red Bird (24:37.41) rounded out the top-five girls runners.

The CEB boys won the team title with 10 points, finishing ahead of White River (33) and Little Woundy (37). St. Francis won the girls title with 15 points, followed by Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (21).
