OACOMA — Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s Jayden Taken Alive and Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips captured individual titles at Thursday’s Region 4A cross-country meet. 

Taken Alive covered the 5,000-meter run at the Chamberlain Country Club in 17 minutes and :03.19 seconds, followed by teammate Jackson Taken alive (17:32.41). Crow Creek’s Justin St. John (17:42.31), Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s Hudson Schmidt (17:57.97) and CEB’s Xavier Sanchez-Gonzalez (18:02.69) rounded out the top-five boys runners. 

Phillips won the girls race in 18:50.31, followed by MVP’s Abigail Engelland (19:58.53) and Suri Schmidt (20:11.22). CEB’s Aubree Miner (20:40.91) and Chamberlain’s Ava Schindler (20:45.22) rounded out the top-five girls runners.

The Cheyenne-Eagle Butte boys won the team title with 47 points, followed by MVP (68) and Platte-Geddes (77). The Chamberlain girls won the team title with 26 points, followed by Platte-Geddes (53) and MVP (60).
