Last season, Dell Rapids snapped an eight-year championship drought, winning their first Class 11AA state championship since 2014. 

This season, the Quarriers can earn back-to-back state championships for the first time since winning three straight from 2010-12. 

No. 1 Dell Rapids (9-0) is the last undefeated team in Class 11A and heads into postseason play as the class favorite. The Quarriers have outscored their opponents by 29.7 points per game this season and have picked up eight double-digits wins.

Dell Rapids’ closest margin of victory was a 20-14 win over Class 11B Hot Springs. Dell Rapids will host No. 8 Madison (3-6) to start its postseason run. The Quarriers defeated the Bulldogs, 44-13, on Aug. 25 in the season opener. 

The Bulldogs enter the playoffs on a three-game winning streak, after starting the season with straight straight losses. 

No. 4 Sioux Falls Christian (7-2) will host No. 5 Dakota Valley (6-3) in another first-round contest. Sioux Falls Christian edged Dakota Valley, 14-7, on Sept. 8. 

West Central (8-1) and Canton (7-2) are the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, respectively. West Central, which was last season’s Class 11A runner-up, hosts Chamberlain (4-5) in the playoff opener. West Central’s lone setback this season was a 28-0 decision against Class 11B No. 1 Winner. 

Canton will host Lennox (5-4) in its playoff opener. Canton edged Lennox, 28-20, on Sept. 8.
