Sioux Falls Lincoln is on the doorstep of snapping a nine-year DakotaDome drought.

The Patriots, who are the last undefeated Class 11AAA team, need one more win to make their first DakotaDome appearance since 2014. Lincoln’s final hurdle is a rematch with Brandon Valley in the Class 11AAA semifinals.

Sioux Falls Lincoln (10-0) will host Brandon Valley (7-3) at 6 p.m. CT at Howard Wood Field, with the winner advancing to the Class 11AAA state championship on Nov. 11. The Patriots defeated the Lynx, 55-13, on Oct. 6 in Brandon.

Behind an explosive offensive attack, Lincoln has been the most dominant team in the state’s largest class this season. Lincoln is averaging 53 points per game, while it is allowing 11.6 points per game on defense. The Patriots rolled past Rapid City Stevens, 56-21, in their playoff opener.

The Lynx hasn’t lost since their Oct. 6 setback against the Patriots. Brandon Valley’s three-game winning streak, including a 41-21 win over Sioux Falls Jefferson in the playoff opener. Brandon Valley scores 34 points per game and allows 15.3 points per game on defense.

In the other Class 11AAA semifinal game, Harrisburg (8-2) and Sioux Falls O’Gorman (8-2) will play at 6 p.m. in Harrisburg. It is the second straight season the Tigers and Knights will play in the semifinals, with Harrisburg winning last season.

Harrisburg defeated Sioux Falls O’Gorman, 19-17, on Oct. 19. The close score is a strong indicator how similar the teams are on and off the field.

The Tigers average 38.7 points per game, while allowing 17.2 points per game. The Knights score 38.8 points per game, while they allow 19.9 points per game.
