In Class 11B, it is Rematch Friday.

The two Class 11B semifinal games feature rematches, including last season’s state championship.

No. 1 Winner (10-0) will host No. 4 Elk Point-Jefferson (9-1) at 7 p.m. CT Friday in the Class 11B semifinals, with the winner advancing to the state championship game on Nov. 10.

The Huskies edged the Warriors, 21-14, in last season’s Class 11B state championship, their first-ever football title. The rematch is Friday.

In addition to last season’s state championship, Winner and Elk Point-Jefferson also played in the 2021 semifinals, a 52-14 Warrior win.

Winner hasn’t lost since the 2022 state championship, and has continued its dominance in Class 11B. The Warriors are averaging 36.8 points per game, while averaging just 4.5 points per game on defense.

The Warriors have pitched six shutouts, including four straight and haven’t given up a touchdown since Sept. 29 vs. Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan.

EPJ was hit hard by graduation, but has rolled to another strong campaign. The Huskies’ lone setback was a 20-11 setback against Sioux Valley, which lost to Hot Springs in last week’s Class 11B quarterfinals.

The Huskies outlasted Tri-Valley twice this season, including a 14-7 victory last week in the quarterfinals.

In the other Class 11B semifinal contest, No. 6 Hot Springs (9-1) will host No. 10 Rapid City Christian (8-2) at 6 p.m. MT in an all-West River semifinal. The Bison defeated the Comets, 23-13, on Oct. 6 at Hart Ranch.

Hot Springs is looking for its first trip to the DakotaDome since 2003, a 48-7 loss against West Central. The Bison advanced to last season’s Class 11B semifinals, falling to Elk Point-Jefferson.

Hot Springs picked up where it left off from last season, and has just one blemish on the record. The Bison lost to Class 11A Dell Rapids, 20-14, on a late touchdown.

Hot Springs picked up a convincing 49-13 win over Sioux Valley in last week’s quarterfinals. Hot Springs is averaging 43.5 points per game and allows just 7.2 points per game on defense.

Rapid City Christian, which is looking for its first-ever state championship appearance, has already had an historic season. The Comets won their first-ever 11-man playoff games this season, both on the road.

The Comets defeated Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central and Deuel on the road the back-to-back weeks in the playoffs. They also defeated the Blackhawks on the road prior to the playoff contest.

Rapid City Christian is scoring 23.6 points per game, while allowing 5.7 points per game on defense.
