SPEARFISH — Mahpiya Luta forced 39 turnovers as the Crusaders cruised to a State A quarterfinal victory over Wagner Thursday. ML will face No. 2 Dakota Valley Friday at 7:45 p.m., MT, in the state semifinals.

Ashlan Carlow-Blount led the Crusaders with 29 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, Jodene Big Crow-Hunter tallied 11 points, Sierra Black Bull tallied 10 points, Dorthie Mesteth totaled nine points, four rebounds and four assists, while Mya Mills collected eight points in the win.

Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal tallied 25 points and 12 rebounds while Lydia Yost added five points and four rebounds in the loss. The Red Raiders will face No. 7 Sioux Valley Friday at 1:45 p.m., MT, in the consolation semifinals. 

Dakota Valley 65, Sioux Valley 57

SPEARFISH — A balanced scoring attack helped No. 2 Dakota Valley fend off No. 7 Sioux Valley in Class A quarterfinal action Thursday. The Panthers will face Mahpiya Luta Friday at 7:45 p.m., MT, in the state semifinals.

DV’s Ella Otten led the Panthers with 17 points and three rebounds, Katie Betsworth tallied 15 points and five boards, Aubree Worden totaled 11 points and eight rebounds, Emerson Mead collected 10 points and seven rebounds, while Camryn Sommervold netted eight points and a team-high nine rebounds in the win.

SV’s Keyra Kruse tallied a game-high 20 points and 12 rebounds, Amari Ward and Kailey Cradduck each tallied 14 points, combining for 11 boards, while Talya Vincent scored six points and three rebounds in the loss. The Cossacks will face Wagner Friday at 1:45 p.m., MT, in the consolation semifinals.

Sioux Falls Christian 58, Mount Vernon-Plankinton 39

SPEARFISH — Four players reach double figures in No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian’s win over No. 8 Mount Vernon-Plankinton in Thursday’s Class A quarterfinal action. The Chargers will take on Hamlin Friday at 6 p.m., MT in the State A semifinals.

Avery Reitz tallied 13 points and five rebounds to lead SFC, Emory Lems collected 12 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Katie Vander Leest and Maya Nelson each added 11 points in the win.

MVP’s Madalynn Lorang led with 13 points and four assists, Taryn Hegg and Layce Bruns each added eight points, while Reagan Rus totaled six points and 14 rebounds in the loss. The Titans will face Mobridge-Pollock in the consolation semifinals Friday at 12 p.m, MT.

Hamlin 65, Mobridge-Pollock 53

SPEARFISH — Addie Steffensen and Addison Neuendorf powered No. 4 Hamlin to a State A quarterfinal victory Thursday. Hamlin will face No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian in the state quarterfinals Friday at 6 p.m., MT.

Steffensen tallied 19 points, five rebounds and three assists while Neuendorf collected 18 points, five rebounds and three assists in the win. Jo Steffensen tallied 12 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Addie Jensen totaled eight points and four boards in the win.

Mobridge-Pollock’s Faith Heil tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds, Brooke Bain added 11 points and seven rebounds, Charley Henderson totaled eight points and five rebounds, while Tegan Konold and Blake Thompson each added seven points in the loss. The Tigers will face No. 8 Mount Vernon-Plankinton in the consolation semifinals at 12 p.m., MT.
