Class A Volleyball Roundup - Dakota Valley sweeps Hamlin, secures spot in state championship

Dakota Valley 3, Hamlin 0

RAPID CITY — Dakota Valley swept Hamlin to advance to the Class A volleyball state championship Friday. The set scores were 25-20, 25-16 and 25-9.

DV’s Claire Munch recorded 18 kills and 10 digs. Samantha Kimball posted seven aces, seven kills and 10 digs. Madie Munch totaled 32 assists, 10 digs and three blocks. Aubree Worden recorded 12 digs. 

Hamlin’s Addison Neuendorf finished with 11 kills and seven digs. Addelyn Jensen posted seven kills and three digs. Jayci Trowbridge recorded four aces and 14 digs. 


St. Thomas More 3, Rapid City Christian 1

RAPID CITY — St. Thomas More defeated Rapid City Christian during Friday’s Class A state volleyball consolation semifinals. The set scores were 19-25, 25-18, 25-18 and 25-21.

STM’s Leighton Scherr had 14 kills, five blocks and four digs, Kesley Benda tallied 11 kills and 11 digs, Violet Grimshaw had six kills, five blocks and two digs, Madison Boyum added six kills and five blocks, Enna Henry had 35 assists and 12 digs, Lauren Poeppel collected eight kills while Kaitlin Strain tallied 30 digs and three assists in the win.

For RCC, Chloe Weber had 16 kills, 22 digs and 17 assists, Faith King tallied 22 assists, 21 digs and 12 kills with three aces, Maddie Altstiel had eight kills and five digs, Maddison Kooiman netted 15 digs while Miley Johnson totaled seven blocks and four kills in the loss.


Clark/Willow Lake 3, Wagner 0 

RAPID CITY — Clark/Willow Lake swept Wagner in a Friday consolation semifinal action at the Class A state volleyball tournament.

CWL’s Shelby Begeman finished with 14 kills, five blocks and three digs. Kelsey Hofer added 11 kills and 10 digs. Kadee Frankfurth posted 22 digs. Zoe Nichols dished out 28 assists and added six digs. 

Wagner’s Ravyn Medricky recorded 11 kills and seven digs. Hannah Holzbauer posted eight kills and 17 digs. Libby Kotab added 19 digs. Braxton Nedved added 27 assists and five digs.
