Rapid City Christian 3, Dakota Valley 2

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Christian clipped Dakota Valley in a five-set Class A state volleyball tournament match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-27, 25-22, 13-25, 25-14 and 15-11.

Rapid City Christian’s Ana Egge finished with 18 kills, 15 digs and three block assists. Kendall Glassbrenner added 10 kills. Lydia Williams recorded nine kills and six block assists. Chloe Weber posted 19 kills, while Sophie DeWitt had 16 digs. Moriah Coyle logged 10 assists. 

For Dakota Valley, Sophie Tuttle logged 22 kills and 22 digs. Samantha Kimbell and Claire Munch logged 15 kills apiece, while Munch had eight digs. Reagan Granstrom added 19 digs. Bria Perryman posted 31 assists and six digs. Jacee Squier added 20 assists and nine digs. Emersen Mead had six block assists. 


Sioux Falls Christian 3, Lennox 0

RAPID CITY — Top seeded Sioux Falls Christian earned a straight-sets win over Lennox on Thursday at the Class A state tournament. The set scores were 25-21, 25-16 and 21-15. 

Taylor Byl led the Chargers with 13 kills while also adding an ace and a dig. Addisen Barber dished out 25 assists and had two kills, two aces and seven digs. Brietta Tims finished with ten kills, two digs and three assisted blocks while Sidney Oostra had nine kills, three aces, seven digs and three assisted blocks. Lavin Maddox finished with 11 digs and four aces.

Ella Grengs powered Lennox with 10 kills,  13 assists, three aces and two digs. Dani Highum finished with nine kills and 12 digs while Ryan Hanssen added six kills. Lillian Meyer finished with 15 assists, an ace and five digs and Ashlee Sweeter added an ace and seven digs. 


Dell Rapids 3, Platte-Geddes 1

RAPID CITY — Dell Rapids earned a win at the Class A state volleyball tournament Thursday with a four set win over Platte-Geddes. The set scores were 25-21, 20-25, 25-10 and 25-14. 

Madelynn Henry powered Dell Rapids with 26 kills, three aces and 16 digs. Sophi Randall had a big afternoon with six kills, 36 assists, 11 digs, a solo block and an assisted block. Lauryn Kloth contributed ten kills, an ace, two digs, a solo block and an assisted block. Karlie Ingalls had an ace and nine digs while Clara Justice had three kills and three digs. Elin Schoenhard added three kills, three aces and a dig. 

Karly VanDerWerff paced Platte-Geddes with 17 kills, an assist, three aces, three digs, a solo block and an assisted block. Baleigh Nachtigal had a team-leading 34 assists to go with nine digs and an assisted block. Cadence Van Zee finished with 10 kills and six digs. Hallie Sprik finished with 11 digs while Hadley Hanson had a kill, two aces and seven digs. Emerson Ringling contributed four kills and a dig for the Black Panthers. 

 

Miller 3, Wagner 2

RAPID CITY — The Miller Rustlers advanced to the semifinals of the Class A state volleyball tournament with a five-set win over Wagner. The set scores were 25-23, 25-18, 11-25, 22-25 and 15-12. 

Paige Werdel powered Miller with 20 kills and added six digs, an assisted block and a solo block. Shaylee Anderberg had 16 kills, an assist, 14 digs and an assisted block while Aleah Schlechter had nine kills, an assist, two aces and three digs. Jolie Palmer finished with 31 digs and had three assists and two aces. Heather Resel had 43 assists, two kills, an ace and three digs. Gracen Werdel had six kills, an assist and an ace and Kate Lichty had a kill, an ace and a solo block for Miller. 

Ashlyn Koupal led Wagner with 21 kills and added 16 digs and assisted on two blocks. Kya Kjeldgaard added 14 kills to go along with 18 digs, a solo block and three assisted blocks. Macy Koupal dished out 41 assists and had a kill and 23 digs. Shona Kocer finished with eight kills and seven digs while Madi Knebel had an ace and 26 digs.
