Spearfish’s Peyton VanDeest is among the top Class AA distance runners.

The Spartan has the No. 1 Class AA time in the 3,200-meter run (10:28.98), while O’Gorman’s Libby Castelli (10:40.52) is just off the pace. 

In the 1,600-meter run, Castelli is No. 1 with a time of 4:54.60 and VanDeest (5:03.02) is No. 2. Brandon Valley’s Sarah VanDeBerg (5:05.23) is right behind VanDeest. VanDeest is also No. 5 in the 800-meter run (2:19.54).
