Class AA Volleyball Capsules - Two-time defending champ Harrisburg rides 75-match winning streak into state tourney

SIOUX FALLS — Harrisburg and its 75-match winning streak headline this year’s Class AA state volleyball tournament field.

The Tigers (28-0) have won the last two Class AA state volleyball tournaments, and are aiming to be the first-ever Class AA team to three-peat. Harrisburg is nationally ranked in the MaxPreps.com top-25 rankings. 

Harrisburg will play No. 9 Aberdeen Central (13-8) in its tournament opener at 11 a.m. at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. In the other first-round matchups, No. 4 O’Gorman (23-5) plays No. 5 Watertown (25-6) at 12:45 p.m., No. 2 Jefferson (20-4) plays No. 7 Brandon Valley (17-11) at 5 p.m. and No. 3 Washington (20-4) plays No. 6 Roosevelt (19-9) at 6:45 p.m.

No. 1 Harrisburg (28-0)

Coach: Ronette Costain

No. 9 Aberdeen Central (13-8)

No. 4 O’Gorman (23-5)
