RAPID CITY — Brandon Valley swept Watertown to take third place at the Class AA state volleyball tournament. The set scores were 25-15, 25-19 and 25-21.

BV’s Jersie Melcher led with 10 kills and four digs, Riya Sheley had six kills, four digs and two blocks, Logan McGuire added 25 assists, eight digs, five aces and four kills while Jayaunna Stroh had five kills and eight digs in the win.

Watertown’s Anna Hirtz tallied nine kills, Andi Olson added 19 digs with six assists, Kynsee Russell recorded 23 assists with 13 digs, Reese Munger had seven kills and four digs while Torrence Tipton had eight kills in the loss.

Sioux Falls Lincoln 3, Sioux Falls Washington 1

RAPID CITY — Sioux Falls Lincoln defeated Sioux Falls Washington in four sets to capture the Class AA consolation championship Saturday. The set scores were 20-25, 26-24, 25-22 and 25-20.

Lincoln’s Mallory Schneider had 11 kills, eight digs, three blocks and 29 assists, Hannah Baron added 10 kills, 12 digs, three blocks and two aces, Ella Smith totaled six kills and five digs, Camila Langenfeld tallied 12 digs and four assists while Julia Blom netted 16 digs and eight assists in the win.

Washington’s Dana Harpe had 12 digs, 11 kills and three blocks, Emily Akkerman recorded 40 assists with 15 digs and four aces, Aubrielle Perry had 10 kills with five digs, Jade Jere added 19 kills and 13 digs while Ivy Freeseman netted 13 digs in the loss.

Sioux Falls Jefferson 3, Mitchell 0

RAPID CITY — Sioux Falls Jefferson swept Mitchell for seventh place at the Class AA state volleyball tournament on Saturday. The set scores were 25-22, 25-12 and 25-10.

Jefferson’s Sienna Sabers posted 13 kills and nine digs. Natalie Welty posted seven kills. Olivia Wachal and Riley Fodness added 10 digs apiece. Wachal had 23 assists. 

Mitchell’s Nia Talley posted 11 kills and 11 digs. Audrey Miller totaled seven kills. Addie Siemsen recorded 20 assists. Kenna Soulek added 11 digs.
