Castlewood 74, White River 54

ABERDEEN — Bryon Laue powered Castlewood to a Class B third-place finish at the state tournament on Saturday.

Laue, a 6-foot-9 junior, logged 20 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots. Jamison Keszler added 18 points and seven assists. Lane Tvedt posted 17 points, five assists, four rebounds and three 3-pointers. Luke Baumberger scored nine points.

White River’s Nic Marshall poured in 31 points, to go along with five rebounds and four steals. Jordan Uhlir added 12 points. Ray Crow tallied seven points. Evastine Wright had seven rebounds.   


Wessington Springs 55, Gregory 51 

ABERDEEN — Wessington Springs built a 15-point lead and held off Gregory for a fifth-place finish at the Class B boys basketball tournament on Saturday.

Wessington Springs’ Parker Graff logged 17 points and hit three 3-pointers. Colby Flowers finished with 14 points, while Blake Larson scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. Ryder Michalek scored eight points. Brock Krueger logged five points and five rebounds.

Gregory’s Noah Bearshield and Daniel Mitchell scored 15 points apiece. Bearshield had six rebounds, while Mitchell had five rebounds. Cruz Klundt added nine points, four rebounds and four assists. Cole Serr added seven points. 


Viborg-Hurley 84, Leola/Frederick Area 75

ABERDEEN — Four players scored in double figures to pace Viborg-Hurley to a seventh-place finish at the Class B boys basketball tournament on Saturday.

Viborg-Hurley’s Brady Schroedermeier recorded 25 points and three rebounds. Nick Hanson logged 19 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Bryson Morrison finished with 12 points, five rebounds and four assists. Devin Sayler had 11 points. Nolan Kolthoff posted seven points, while Braydyn Morrison scored five points.

Leola/Frederick Area’s Brayden Sumption scored 19 points and hit four 3-pointers. Noah Kippley logged 15 points, while Gavin Nickelson and Winston Clark had nine points apiece. Milo Sumption recorded eight points. Westyn Thorpe scored five points.
