Dell Rapids St. Mary 66, Aberdeen Christian 45 

ABERDEEN — Three players scored in double figures to power Dell Rapids St. Mary to a Class B boys basketball tourney win on Thursday. The Cardinals will play Freeman or Viborg-Hurley at 7:45 p.m. Friday in the semifinals. 

DRSM’s Trevon Beckman finished with 21 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Maverick LeBrun added 18 points and nine rebounds. Trimmier Hanson had 15 points, three assists and three rebounds. Jake Kopsas tallied six points and five rebounds. 

For Aberdeen Christian, Brooks Jett totaled 17 points and 11 rebounds. Jett Johnson and Grady Jett added nine points apiece. Ellis Russell collected five rebounds. 


Castlewood 64, Lyman 38

ABERDEEN — Bryon Laue’s double-double powered No. 1 Castlewood to a quarterfinal victory Thursday at the Class B state boys basketball tournament. The Warriors will take on Wessington Springs Friday at 6 p.m. in the state semifinals.

Laue finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds, Luke Baumberger recorded 15 points and four rebounds, Jamison Keszler totaled 13 points, five assists and four rebounds, while Kamden Keszler netted 10 points, four assists and three rebounds in the win.

Lyman’s MJ Diehm had 12 points and three rebounds, Cole Kieffer added nine points and four rebounds, while Dawsen Volmer scored five points and three rebounds in the loss.


Wessington Springs 74, Wall 52

ABERDEEN — Colby Flowers, Karter Mebius and Ryder Michalek combined for 63 points in Wessington Springs opening round victory over Wall in Thursday’s Class B quarterfinal action. WS will face Castlewood in the state semifinals Friday at 6 p.m.

Flowers led the Spartans with 24 points and 16 rebounds, Mebius added 20 points while Michalek recorded 19 points, 11 rebounds and three assists in the win.

Wall’s Emmet Dinger tallied 19 points, Teelan Kjerstad added 13 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Carter Sundall tallied seven points as well.
