The Chester Area boys appear to be one of the best teams in Class B this season and the Flyers didn’t hurt their cause winning the 400-meter relay, the 800-meter relay and the 1,600 meter relay titles at Howard Wood.

One of the new leaders this week comes from the Tri-State track team. Kaleb Foltz has the top 800-meter run time of 2:03.04. Tri-State won the Howard Wood sprint medley relay and had the fastest Class B time in that event (3:47.03).

Canistota’s Josiah Schroeder is having a breakout season in the distance events. Schroeder has the top time in the 1,600 meter run (4:37.84) and the fastest 3,200 meter run in the B ranks (10:06.13). 

Feels like the Class B boys have an inordinate amount of good discus throwers this season. Lemmon/McIntosh’s Tell Mollman leads Class B (167-8). Lucas Mentele of Bridgewater/Emery threw 162-8 and Ipswich’s Zack Geditz threw 151-6.5. 

The Class B high jump has another talented trip of jumpers at the top of the B rankings. 

Daniel Mitchell (Gregory) and Dawson Reckling (Kadoka Area) have both cleared 6-6 with Freeman Academy/Marion’s Thalen Schroeder has cleared 6-4. 

Keep one eye on the Frederick boys relay teams. 

Frederick has the No. 9 time in the 800-meter relay (1:35.60, the No. 3 time in the 1,600 meter relay (3:39.80) and No. 2 time in the 3,200 meter relay (8:39.70).
