Bennett County 51, Parkston 49

HURON — Reagan and Peyson O’Neill each tallied double-doubles to power No. 5 Bennett County to a State B quarterfinal win over Parkston Thursday. Bennett County will face Centerville Friday at 6 p.m. in the state semifinals.

Reagan O’Neill tallied 13 points and 13 rebounds while Peyson O’Neill recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Madi Waln added 10 points and two assists, while Harley Harris added six points, five rebounds and three assists for the Warriors.

Parkston’s Keeara Oakley led the Trojans with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Berkeley Ziebart netted 11 points and three boards, while Mya Thuringer tallied nine points and 12 rebounds in the loss. The Trojans will face Deubrook Area Friday at 12 p.m. in the consolation semifinals.


Centerville 51, Deubrook Area 46

HURON — A second half surge propelled top-seeded Centerville over Deubrook Area in the opening round of the Class B state tournament. Centerville will face Bennett County on Friday night at 6 p.m. in the semifinals.

Izzie Eide led the Tornadoes with 22 points and six rebounds, Emma Marshall had 15 points and nine rebounds while Althea Gust totaled 11 points in the win.

DA’s Mataya Gouws led all scorers with 15 points and six rebounds, Kylee Johnson netted 12 points and nine rebounds while Matte Bauman collected nine points and four rebounds in the loss. The Dolphins will face Parkston in the consolation semifinals Friday at 12 p.m.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 61, Harding County 50

HURON — Madala Hanson’s 22-point burst lifted No. 7 Dell Rapids St. Mary to an upset victory over No. 2 Harding County in Thursday’s State B quarterfinal action. The Cardinals will face Lyman or Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Friday at 7:45 p.m. in the state semifinals.

Hanson finished with 22 points and five rebounds, Jenna Miller added 13 points and five rebounds while Jodie Klein and Stephenie Geraets each tallied eight points in the win.

HC’s Kamry Padden netted 13 points and four rebounds, Bailey Verhulst totaled 13 points and three rebounds, while Kaylen Padden tallied nine points and five boards in the loss. The Ranchers will face Lyman or Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Friday at 1:45 p.m. in the consolation semifinals.

Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 53, Lyman 40 (OT)

HURON — Liz Boschee’s 23-point double-double lifted No. 6 Sanborn Central-Woonsocket to an overtime victory over Lyman in the Class B quarterfinals Thursday. The Blackhawks will face No. 7 Dell Rapids St. Mary Friday in the semifinals at 7:45 p.m.

Boschee tallied 23 points and 11 rebounds, Alexa Goertz collected 13 points and three rebounds, while Cami Edwards added six points in the win.

Lyman’s Mak Scott had 13 points and 14 rebounds in the loss, Jordyn Scott tallied 10 points and two rebounds, while Brooke Palmer collected nine points and eight rebounds as well. The Raiders will face No. 2 Harding County at 1:45 p.m. in the consolation semifinals Friday.
