BROOKINGS — The Class B South Dakota High School Baseball Association tournament is May 26-27 at Bob Shelden Field in Brookings. 

The action kicks off with Dell Rapids vs. Sioux Valley at 11 a.m. and concludes with Madison/Chester vs. Dakota Valley at 7:30 p.m. The state championship is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start on May 27. You can tune in to all seven state tournament games on LiveTicket.Tv.

Here’s a look at all eight teams in the field: 


No. 1 Dell Rapids

Coach: Danny Miller

Record: 20-1

Key players: Tad Tjaden, Cole Ruesink, Drake Eastman

Notes: Dell Rapids plays Sioux Valley in the 11 a.m. opener. … Defeated Colman-Egan/Flandreau, 18-8, and West Central, 5-0, in regions. … The Quarriers are the defending Class B state champions, including three of the last four seasons. … All-state first-team pitcher and Southwest Minnesota State baseball commit Tad Tjaden struck out 18 batters against West Central in the regional. Tjaden bats at a .363 pace with a team-leading 23 RBIs. … First-team all-state selection Cole Ruesink, a Northern State football commit, leads the Quarriers in batting avg. at a .400 clip with five doubles, two triples and 15 RBIs. … Drake Eastman, another first-team all-state selection, bolsters a 2.7 ERA with a .338 batting average, eight doubles and 23 RBIs.


No. 8 Sioux Valley
